This is considered the "key" for Dong Nai to build high-quality human resources, create unique cultural products, meet integration needs and contribute to improving people's spiritual life.
Efforts to train young talent
Every year, Dong Nai College of Culture and Arts trains more than 250 students in performing arts majors. Not only stopping at theory, the training program is built in a direction closely linked with performance practice, from traditional stages to modern art programs.
Master Phung Ngoc Long, Principal of Dong Nai College of Culture and Arts, said: Currently, the school is training 4 majors: Traditional Musical Instruments, Western Musical Instruments, Dance and Vocal Music. In 2025 alone, the school has 243 applications, of which 105 students were admitted. Notably, the Traditional Musical Instruments major (mono bau, lute, erhu, zither, etc.) attracted 31 students to register, especially children of ethnic minorities.
Not only training, the school also focuses on creating conditions for students to perform, exchange and gain practical experience. Regularly organized art practice programs have become a "stage" where the school discovers and nurtures new faces. In addition, students are encouraged to participate in many festivals, competitions, and performances of the province, region and the whole country. From these activities, many students have made an impression, becoming collaborators for art units and cultural centers, creating a foundation to go further on the professional path.
One of the typical faces who grew up from the art training environment of Dong Nai is Mr. Nguyen Huy Quyen. He not only actively participates in many performance programs but is also an active collaborator of cultural units at the provincial, commune/ward levels. These experiences not only help him hone his skills but also contribute to spreading his love of music to the public, especially the youth. Currently, Mr. Quyen is studying Music Pedagogy at the Ho Chi Minh City Conservatory of Music; at the same time, he continues to be attached to traditional music (majoring in zither) at Dong Nai Intermediate School of Culture and Arts.
In parallel with professional training, Dong Nai Cultural - Cinema Center annually opens many classes to guide amateur music, reformed opera, composition and performing arts for students, grassroots cultural officers, members of music and art clubs... The highlight is that the classes invite prestigious and experienced artists from Dong Nai and Ho Chi Minh City to directly teach, creating conditions for students to access in-depth learning and performing methods. Many students from these classes have become "nuclei" in the cultural movement at the grassroots level, contributing to preserving and promoting traditional arts.
Towards a sustainable cultural industry
According to Master Phung Ngoc Long, the training of performing arts majors at Dong Nai College of Culture and Arts is always closely linked to the reality of social life. Thanks to that, after graduation, students are not only solid in their expertise but also have the ability to quickly integrate into the working environment. Most of the students who graduate find stable jobs at educational institutions, cultural centers, art units or continue to study to improve their professional qualifications. This result contributes to supplementing young, high-quality human resources, effectively serving the development of Dong Nai's cultural industry in the new period.
According to the province's development orientation, one of the key solutions to bring the culture, sports and tourism development on par with the economy in the period of 2025-2030 is to promote the cultural industry. The focus is on creating high-quality products and services, associated with regional and international cooperation. Dong Nai is focusing on expanding exchanges, promoting images, people and culture to the world; at the same time, promoting cultural diplomacy and applying technology to bring cultural products closer to people and tourists.
Provincial Party Committee member, Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism Le Thi Ngoc Loan said: In the coming time, Dong Nai will prioritize the development of a number of key cultural products with potential and advantages such as: performing arts, photography, cultural tourism, fine arts. At the same time, step by step improve the competitiveness of cultural industries; at the same time, build a strategy to develop cultural industries with advantages of the province, in accordance with the development requirements in the new period.
In addition to the intermediate level, Dong Nai College of Culture and Arts also cooperates with art schools in Ho Chi Minh City, helping students access a professional training environment. This connection creates conditions for learners to improve their qualifications and professional expertise, adding motivation for young talents to reach out with their passion for art.
With a clear orientation and proper attention and investment, Dong Nai is gradually affirming its role as a potential locality in developing cultural industry. This will be the foundation for the province to both preserve traditional identity and create modern cultural products, integrating internationally.
