According to initial reports, he stated that there were no casualties in the attack. However, the TASS news agency, citing emergency services, reported that four Il-76 transport aircraft, a key type of aircraft in the Russian military, were damaged at the military airfield.
"The drone attack resulted in damage to four Il-76 aircraft. A fire broke out and two of the aircraft caught fire," the statement said.
Video footage of the incident on Russian media showed thick black smoke rising over the airport, and added that local residents heard explosions and gunfire.
Reports on Telegram channels indicate that Russian air defense systems have been activated around the Pskov region, located near the Latvian and Estonian borders.

In another development, the Russian Defense Ministry told reporters on Wednesday that an aircraft from the Russian Black Sea Fleet had destroyed four military speedboats carrying Ukrainian landing forces.
The ministry stated: “At approximately midnight Moscow time, an aircraft of the Black Sea Fleet's naval aviation destroyed four military high-speed boats carrying Ukrainian special operations assault groups totaling 50 people in the Black Sea.”
