The largest drone innovation playground for students nationwide

VHO - On the morning of December 3, at the C500 Stadium (Security Academy) in Hanoi, the opening ceremony of the PV GAS 2025 UAV Cup Innovation Competition with the theme "Homeland's Sky" took place.

This year's contest attracted more than 100 applications.

This activity marks the beginning of a large-scale national competition, gathering 28 excellent student teams from universities and academies nationwide.

The competition was organized by the Institute of Space and Underwater Technology (ISUT) of Hanoi University of Science and Technology in collaboration with PetroVietnam Gas Joint Stock Corporation (PV GAS).

The competition aims to promote the spirit of innovation among young people, improve research, design and application capacity of UAVs (unmanned aerial vehicles).

At the same time, this playground also aims to find highly practical technological solutions, serving smart agriculture , environmental monitoring, logistics, rescue... in line with the orientation of Industry 4.0 and sustainable development.

With the theme Homeland Sky , the competition not only promotes patriotism, creativity and technological prowess of the young generation but also encourages the contribution of UAVs to industrial development, ensuring security and safety and supporting emergency situations in Vietnam.

The opening ceremony took place in a solemn and exciting atmosphere with the presence of leaders of ministries, branches, representatives of research institutes, experts in the field of aviation - technology, universities, technology enterprises, and more than 500 students, fans and UAV enthusiasts.

Products at the contest

This year’s competition attracted more than 100 applications. After two rounds of preliminary application and technical evaluation, the Organizing Committee selected the 28 best teams to compete in the national group stage.

The teams will be divided into 7 groups, competing in turns for 3 days, from December 3-5. After that, 7 group winners and 1 second-placed team with the highest results will enter the Quarterfinals - Semifinals - Finals taking place on December 6-7 to determine the champion.

Through UAV CUP PV GAS 2025 , the Organizing Committee hopes to build a sustainable bridge between academia - businesses - scientific community, creating conditions for creative ideas to be tested, implemented in practice and developed into valuable technology products.
