The grounds of the Bodhi Garden World – where the ceremony of planting 108 Bodhi trees by eminent monks and leaders of Buddhist delegations from 80 countries will take place – also have a completely new look. Thousands of Buddhist flags are hung high, forming a giant conical hat, a symbol of Vietnam, creating a unique highlight for the Bodhi Garden.

Here, 108 Bodhi trees brought from Bodh Gaya (India) will be planted, with each tree numbered separately for each Buddhist delegation from different countries. In Buddhist culture, the number 108 symbolizes 108 human afflictions, and the practice of the Dharma to overcome 108 afflictions to reach the shore of peace. Planting 108 Bodhi trees at Ba Den Mountain has a profound meaning of sowing the seeds of enlightenment, nurturing compassion and wisdom, so that Buddhists and visitors can find peace and serenity right on the sacred mountain top.

The first floor of the Buddhist Exhibition Center - where the relics of Buddha Shakyamuni brought back from India will be enshrined - is also decorated and ready to welcome thousands of Buddhists to come and worship the treasures of world Buddhism. This exhibition space is 534 square meters wide, displaying 83 statues and 83 Buddhist artworks, with the focal point being the statue of Avalokitesvara with a thousand eyes and a thousand hands. The Buddha's relics will be enshrined and strictly protected at the center of the exhibition space, and will be open to Buddhists from 6:00 p.m. on May 8, 2025 to 8:00 a.m. on May 13, 2025.

“The Buddha’s relics are a treasure of humanity that has been brought to Vietnam for the first time, and many people wish to have the opportunity to pay homage on this occasion. Therefore, to maintain dignity when paying homage to the relics, we sincerely hope that Buddhists and visitors will not bring offerings, not film or take photos without permission, maintain order and line up in order to pay homage... We also hope that Buddhists and visitors will receive many blessings on this important occasion,” said Ms. Dao Thi Viet, Deputy Director of Sun World Ba Den Mountain.

The relics of the Buddha were found in a jar by the British archaeologist William Claxon Peppé in 1898 from the foundations of a ruin at Piprahwa, Uttar Pradesh. After deciphering the characters on the lid of the jar, it was determined that this was the original relic of the Buddha. The discovery of the Piprahwa jar marked a major turning point in the history of Buddhism, proving that the Buddha Shakyamuni was a real historical figure, something that had previously been doubted and denied.

In addition to decorating the space, Ba Den Mountain Tourist Area has also prepared for the reception such as moving diagram, arranging ceremonial areas, setting up the press center... ensuring both solemnity and convenience for delegates and units working at the event.
