Accordingly, An Giang province has disbursed VND 1,400 billion out of the total VND 3,450 billion allocated in 2025, reaching 40.4% (an increase of 15.9% compared to May 2025).
Site clearance work involves 1,555 households and is currently 100% complete. During construction, the bridge section has been installed at 33 locations, reaching 94% of the bridge deck and 64% of the railings. The box culvert section has reached 75%, the road section has reached about 83% of the sand filling volume, 92% of construction, 63% of wick placement and 64% of sand loading.

Regarding material sources, units have provided 5.4 million m³ of sand out of a total demand of 9.3 million m³; stone materials have provided 221,000 m³ out of a total demand of 1.17 million m³. The relocation of the 110kV high-voltage power line has been completed, the 220kV line has reached 95%, expected to be completed by the end of July.
Currently, more than 900 engineers, workers with 410 pieces of equipment, 75 construction teams are working day and night, throughout the holidays, following the spirit of "overcoming the sun, overcoming the rain", working "3 shifts, 4 teams" to ensure progress. An Giang province is committed to completing the project on time, ensuring quality, labor safety and environmental sanitation.

Speaking at the inspection, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh requested that units must promote the spirit of "taking advantage of the victory" of April 30, 1975, liberating the South and unifying the country, to be determined to complete the project ahead of schedule. Currently, the site clearance work has been completed, and there is no shortage of sand and gravel in An Giang. Therefore, contractors need to focus on "3 shifts, 4 shifts", "not enough work during the day, take advantage of working at night", "eat quickly, sleep urgently", work through holidays and Tet, "overcome the sun, overcome the rain", speed up to ensure the project is basically opened to traffic on December 19 this year, 6 months earlier than planned.
For localities, the Prime Minister requested that youth, women, soldiers, police, and organizations should also participate in encouraging and taking care of logistics for the brothers at the construction site. Promoting the good tradition of our “army and people” during the war, helping to put the project into use as soon as possible to serve the development of the local and national economy.
The Prime Minister emphasized that the entire political system must get involved, especially the army, which must promote its pioneering and shock spirit. The army also comes from the people, and must complete any task, overcome any difficulty, and defeat any enemy.
“We can still defeat our enemies, but now there are no enemies, the enemies are only the rain, the sun, the wind and the storm. In the past, our ancestors had to shed blood. Now, we only need to sweat, work extra days and hours to help future generations benefit. Therefore, everyone must be determined and resolute that by December 19, the project must be opened to traffic,” the Prime Minister requested.
The Chau Doc - Can Tho - Soc Trang Expressway Project has a total length of 188km, with a total investment of about 45,000 billion VND. The section through An Giang alone is 57km long, divided into 4 main construction packages, with a total investment of 13,500 billion VND. To date, the construction output has reached 52.87%, exceeding 0.13% of the plan, striving to complete before June 30, 2026 as directed by the Prime Minister.
