On the morning of August 20th, it was announced that the People's Committee of Nghe An province had decided to award certificates of merit from the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, along with monetary rewards, to 75 students who achieved high scores in the 2025 high school graduation exam.
Among the list of high-scoring students this year in Nghe An province, many come from rural schools and disadvantaged schools.
The 75 students who received awards were divided into groups, including those who achieved total scores ranging from 33 to 38.75 points in their respective subject combinations.
This is the first year that awards are being given under the new regulations due to changes in the high school graduation exam implemented according to the 2018 General Education Program.

Accordingly, there are four groups of students who will be awarded prizes: Students who register to take the exams in Mathematics, Literature, and two elective subjects from Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Informatics, or Technology; students who register to take the exams in Mathematics, Literature, and two elective subjects from History, Geography, Economics, and Law; students who register to take the exams in Mathematics, Literature, two elective subjects (Foreign Language), and one other subject; and students who register to take the exams in Mathematics, Literature, and other subjects not belonging to the three groups above.
Based on the exam results of nearly 39,000 students, Nghe An province has selected 75 students with the highest scores and students from ethnic minority groups with the next highest scores.
Each student will receive eight times the basic salary (2.34 million VND), equivalent to 18,720,000 VND per student. The total amount of rewards received by the students is over 1.4 billion VND.
Reportedly, in the 2025 high school graduation exam, Nghe An province had the highest average score across all subjects nationwide with 52.92 points.
