On the afternoon of September 29th, in Vinh City, the Standing Committee of the Nghe An Provincial People's Council held its regular monthly meeting for September 2023. Comrade Thai Thanh Quy - Member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council, and Head of the Provincial Delegation of National Assembly Deputies - presided over the meeting.

At the meeting, the Standing Committee of the Provincial People's Council unanimously agreed to hold the 16th Session (Special Session) on the afternoon of October 27, 2023, to conduct a vote of confidence for those holding positions elected by the Provincial People's Council, including: the Chairman of the Provincial People's Council, the Vice-Chairmen of the Provincial People's Council, the Heads of the Committees of the Provincial People's Council, the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, the Vice-Chairmen of the Provincial People's Committee, and the members of the Provincial People's Committee elected by the Provincial People's Council before January 1, 2023, totaling 30 people.
This includes the Provincial People's Council (7 members): Chairman of the Provincial People's Council, 2 Vice-Chairmen of the Provincial People's Council, Head of the Economic and Budget Committee of the Provincial People's Council, Head of the Legal Committee of the Provincial People's Council, Head of the Culture and Social Affairs Committee of the Provincial People's Council; and Head of the Ethnic Affairs Committee of the Provincial People's Council.

The Provincial People's Committee (23 people) includes: the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, 4 Vice-Chairmen of the Provincial People's Committee, and 18 members of the Provincial People's Committee, including: the Director of the Provincial Police Department, the Commander of the Provincial Military Command, the Chief of the Provincial People's Committee Office, the Chief Inspector of the Province, the Head of the Provincial Ethnic Affairs Committee; and the Directors of 13 departments: Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs, Information and Communications, Tourism, Construction, Education and Training, Finance, Justice, Interior, Natural Resources and Environment, Transport, Industry and Trade, Culture and Sports, and Foreign Affairs.

At the same time, the session is expected to consider and approve several other resolutions related to the proposal to recognize the expanded Vinh City as meeting the criteria of a Type I urban area; the Resolution approving the Vinh City Urban Development Program until 2030, with a vision to 2050; and resolutions on investment policies and adjustments to investment policies for several public investment projects;…
