Nghe An: Highlights on May 23

Continuing the agenda of the 7th Session of the 15th National Assembly, on the morning of May 23rd, delegates held group discussions. The delegation of National Assembly deputies from Nghe An province discussed in Group 3 along with the delegations of National Assembly deputies from Bac Kan and Quang Ngai provinces.

Later that afternoon, the National Assembly held a plenary session to discuss the results of monitoring the resolution of voter petitions submitted to the 6th Session of the 15th National Assembly, chaired by Comrade Tran Thanh Man, Member of the Political Bureau and Chairman of the National Assembly.

* On the morning of May 23rd, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh chaired an online meeting of the Government Standing Committee with localities on the implementation of the 500kV circuit 3 power line project from Quang Trach (Quang Binh) to Pho Noi (Hung Yen). The Prime Minister requested ministries, sectors, units, and localities to make greater efforts and overcome difficulties to inaugurate the 500kV circuit 3 power line project before June 30th, 2024.

* On the morning of May 23rd, the People's Committee of Nghe An province organized the 2024 Firefighting and Rescue Skills Competition for Neighborhood Fire Safety Teams. This year's competition brought together 21 teams from 21 districts, cities, and towns across the province.

* On the morning of May 23rd, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Vinh City held its 19th Congress of Delegates for the 2024-2029 term. The Congress elected 65 members to the new term of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Vinh City.

* On the morning of May 23rd, the Standing Committee of the Provincial People's Council supervised the implementation of the National Target Program for building new rural areas in Tan Ky district.

* On May 23rd, at the Nghi Loc district cemetery, the Nghe An Provincial Military Command and the Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs organized the handover and collection of biological samples for DNA identification of 87 remains of Vietnamese volunteer soldiers and experts who died in Laos during the 2023-2024 dry season.

* Young players from Hoang Mai, Hung Nguyen, Tuong Duong districts, and other areas are actively training to participate in the 2024 Nghe An Newspaper Cup Youth and Children's Football Tournament. The young players are highly determined, playing their best for their team and striving to advance to the next round.
