On December 6, in Ta Leng commune, Lai Chau province, an activity that many tourists are looking forward to will take place, which is the first "Horse Hoof Racing on PuTaLeng" Horse Racing Festival.
The horse racing festival “Horse hooves on PuTaLeng” is a cultural event to honor, introduce and promote the good traditional cultural values of the Mong ethnic group in Ta Leng commune in particular, Lai Chau province in general; at the same time promote and introduce new tourism products to the general public and tourists.

The opening ceremony of the festival is expected to take place at 8:00 p.m. on December 6 at the Then Pa village stage, with special traditional performances performed by mass art troupes of ethnic groups in the commune.
The highlight of this year's horse racing festival is the horse parade on the opening night and the ritual of praying for good luck for the participating horse racing groups.
The “PuTaLeng Horse Racing Festival” is expected to attract the participation of more than 20 horse riders from villages in Ta Leng commune and neighboring communes: Binh Lu; Ban Bo, Khun Ha; Sin Suoi Ho; Doan Ket and Tan Phong wards.
In addition to the main activity of horse racing, the festival also has many special activities such as: the traditional race "Conquering Ta Leng pine hill"; tug of war competitions, rice cake pounding, processing men men - a traditional dish of the Mong people; space to display OCOP products, traditional handicrafts, local cuisine and ethnic folk games...
For the Mong people, horses are both loyal animals to their owners and effectively serve the lives of highland people, so they are considered valuable assets.
Horse racing in Ta Leng is not a race of professional athletes but of farmers and racehorses are pack horses associated with daily working life.

This will also be an opportunity for athletes, artisans, people and tourists to meet, exchange and share experiences in preserving and promoting traditional cultural identity, while connecting tours, tourist routes and developing the local socio-economy.
