This year, the full moon day of the first lunar month falls on a weekend, so the number of visitors to the festival has increased. On February 11 (January 15) alone, there were over 100,000 visitors. The sudden increase in visitors has forced motels and hotels to put up signs saying they are fully booked because guests are constantly asking to rent rooms.

The number of tourists visiting Ba Chua Xu Temple on Sam Mountain is increasing.
(TNO) During the long holidays, the number of pilgrims and tourists from all over coming to visit and worship at Ba Chua Xu Temple on Sam Mountain (Nui Sam Ward, Chau Doc City, An Giang) increased 3 times compared to normal days.

The number of motorbikes and cars of all kinds has increased so the roads leading to the temple are always crowded with vehicles, causing long traffic jams.

In the evening, at the Sam Mountain Lady Temple area, the scene is bustling, vibrant, and sparkling with lights. In the hall where the Lady's statue is located, there are always many people worshiping. Visitors offer pigs, fruits, rice, salt, etc. to pray for luck, incense smoke billows up into the hall. Also in the Lady Temple area, many adults and children spread out mats to sleep overnight for luck.

In the past, these days, there were always scenes of street vendors flooding into the Lady of the Land Temple, trying to entice tourists to buy incense, lamps, rice to worship the Lady, or to buy birds to release for good luck. Many tourists were ripped off by hundreds of thousands of dong for a bundle of incense, or millions of dong for a bag of rice of several dozen kilos, leading to arguments.

However, in recent years, this chaotic phenomenon has gradually decreased over time due to the management board of the Ba Temple, the ward police, and the People's Committee of Nui Sam Ward working together to strengthen management. The management board also uses loudspeakers to continuously call on tourists to be careful not to buy offerings to avoid being ripped off; and not to ask for fortune telling...
