The auction winner of car license plate 30L-999.99 paid the full amount of 12,105 billion VND

On the evening of December 18, speaking with VietNamNet reporters, a representative of the Traffic Police Department ( Ministry of Public Security ) said that the person who won the auction for car license plate 30L-999.99 had fulfilled his financial obligations.

Specifically, in the auction at 10:00 a.m. on December 4, a customer won the auction for car license plate 30L-999.99 for VND12,105 billion.

"Up to now, the auction winner has paid the full amount of 12,105 billion VND into the Ministry of Public Security's specialized collection account," informed a representative of the Traffic Police Department.

Previously, the license plate 30L-999.99 had been auctioned twice. The first auction was held on September 27, with the winning bid being 16,795 billion VND. However, the winning bidder did not fulfill their financial obligations as required, so the auction was held again for the second time.

Also according to the representative of the Ministry of Public Security, the unit has coordinated to organize 272 auction days with more than 2 million license plates being put on the market. Of these, 51,218 plates were successfully auctioned, with the total value of the auctioned assets reaching nearly 5,000 billion VND. To date, the total amount of money that the auction winners have paid is nearly 4,500 billion VND.

The auctions also recorded car license plates winning the auction with record high prices such as: 51K-888.88 (15.265 billion VND); 30K-555.55 (14.495 billion VND); 11A-111.11 (8.78 billion VND); 72A- 777.77 (6.85 billion VND)...

On June 27, the National Assembly passed the Law on Road Traffic Safety, effective from January 1, 2025. It includes provisions on auctioning vehicle license plates to contribute to effectively exploiting public assets such as vehicle license plates, creating revenue for the State budget; investing in infrastructure systems for registration and license plate issuance; reforming administrative procedures, creating favorable conditions for the people; ensuring the issuance of vehicle license plates publicly, transparently, and in accordance with the law.
