In just a few days, the house of more than 100 square meters of Mrs. Nguyen Thi Cuc's family (Quy Phuoc village, Binh Quy) will be put into use. After more than 30 years of living away from home, in 2021, Mrs. Cuc's family returned to live with her nephew in Quy Phuoc village, Binh Quy commune. Her family is a near-poor household and was supported by the district Red Cross Society (RCS) with 60 million VND to build a humanitarian house, aiming to complete it by early May.
Mrs. Cuc shared: “When returning to my hometown, my family stayed at my nephew’s old house which was also in disrepair. After that, the commune put us on the list of near-poor households. Recently, the Women’s Union of Binh Quy commune supported my family to borrow 100 million VND from the District Social Policy Bank Transaction Office to have money to buy land to build a house.
After that, the family supported 60 million VND to build a new house. In just a few days, my family will have a stable house, continue to develop the family economy , and raise two orphaned grandchildren" - Ms. Cuc added.

The Red Cross Society from the district to the grassroots level in Thang Binh is inspecting and urging the construction progress of 3 humanitarian houses in Binh Quy and Binh Tri communes for acceptance and putting into use this May.
Mr. Vo Anh Trung - Chairman of the Thang Binh District Red Cross Association said that as soon as the foundation of the house was laid, the District Association advanced 50% of the support amount of 60 million VND/house so that households could afford to buy materials, the remaining amount would be given at the house acceptance and handover ceremony.
During the implementation process, the District Association and the Red Cross Association of each locality regularly checked the progress and encouraged households to build houses that met strict criteria, were safe and within the prescribed time, contributing to the campaign of "Eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses" in the district.

This year's humanitarian month is implemented from May 1 to May 31, including two peak weeks from May 8 to May 19 to celebrate the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Day and President Ho Chi Minh's birthday.
In the 2025 Humanitarian Month, Thang Binh district will simultaneously deploy communication activities to mobilize the community to participate in the movement "Good people, good deeds - Joining hands to build a humane community" associated with the Campaign "Each organization, each individual is associated with a humanitarian address". In which, resources will be allocated and mobilized from 3 disadvantaged households to build new and repair humanitarian houses.
