On the evening of June 13th, the South Korean boy band Tempest held a press conference in Vietnam ahead of their concert in Ho Chi Minh City. The six members of the group—Hanbin, Eunchan, Hyuk, Taerae, Lew, and Hyungseop—greeted in Vietnamese, expressing their gratitude for the support of their fans in the country.

This is Tempest's second visit to Vietnam. Their first visit was in December 2023 at the Ho Do International Music Festival as a special guest.

According to the organizers, instead of holding their tour in their home country of South Korea like other groups, Tempest chose Vietnam to kick off their first world tour.

Ms. Thai Thi Truc Mai, representing the concert organizer, stated that the process of working with Tempest's management company encountered numerous difficulties.

"During this period, Vietnamese audiences were very concerned about international artists holding concerts in Vietnam. Therefore, agreeing on a plan to bring Tempest to perform was not a simple matter. The economic and financial aspects, as well as the scale of the show's operation, were also meticulously calculated by the team," Ms. Mai said.

Recently, many Korean stars have chosen Vietnam as the main destination for their solo shows. These include groups like BlackPink, Super Junior, Kim Jae Joong, Baekhyun (EXO member), Tempest, and soon Daesung (Big Bang).

One of the reasons given is that K-pop has remained very popular in Vietnam over the years. In particular, the fan base is very loyal, passionate, and willing to spend money. Along with these expectations, many people hope that Vietnamese organizations will become more professional and upgrade their capabilities to organize shows by foreign artists according to international standards.

Through this performance, Tempest aims to present a mature image, conveying the spirit of talented men who are constantly striving for self-improvement.

After the concert, the group has many plans to work with the Vietnamese market, through collaborations or creating music products that promote cultural exchange.
