Diverse range of job openings
According to the Can Tho City Employment Service Center, from the beginning of 2025 to the present, the Can Tho City labor market has shown many positive signs; labor supply and demand connection activities are vibrant; and activities sending workers abroad have seen significant improvements. At the online job fair for the Mekong Delta, Southeast region, and neighboring provinces and cities in the second quarter of 2025, organized by the City Employment Service Center in mid-June, 468 businesses participated in recruitment with 75,181 vacant positions across diverse industries and sectors. The Can Tho City Employment Service Center alone had 50 businesses participating, with 2,587 vacant positions. The job opportunities at the fair are diverse and abundant, including shrimp processing workers, garment workers, ride-hailing drivers, sales staff, real estate brokers, delivery personnel, security guards, mechanics, domestic helpers, and more.
Workers and businesses participate in a job fair at the Can Tho City Employment Service Center.
Mr. Truong Nhat Tai, Deputy Director of Hasu Asia Co., Ltd., said: “In June 2025, our company needs to recruit 6 female workers to Japan for a plastic product inspection job and 12 male/female workers for several jobs related to operating construction machinery in the construction, painting, and mechanical-welding industries. Workers will sign a 3-year contract with a basic salary of approximately 28 million VND/person/month; after deducting expenses, the remaining salary will be approximately 22 million VND/person/month (excluding overtime). In addition, in July 2025, we have a job order related to agriculture requiring 10 workers.” According to Mr. Truong Nhat Tai, Japan currently needs a large number of workers, including both unskilled and skilled laborers, to boost its economic development. Japanese businesses are actively recruiting workers from various countries. In this process, priority is given to Vietnamese workers because they are quick-witted and have a good ability to adapt to different cultures and foreign languages. Hasu Asia Co., Ltd. regularly collaborates with the Can Tho City Employment Service Center to find suitable candidates. In the first six months of 2025 alone, the city's Employment Service Center supplied the company with over 10 candidates, and six of them have been selected for jobs in Japan.
Surveys of several companies seeking to recruit workers show that the current overseas labor market situation is quite optimistic, with many suitable job orders, standards, occupations, and costs that are appropriate for workers in Can Tho City. The basic salary for workers going to work abroad under contract ranges from 28-35 million VND/person/month (excluding overtime pay). Specifically, Nhat Tan Manpower Company is currently recruiting 12 female workers in the food processing industry and 4 female workers in metal stamping to work in Japan; Saigon Value Human Resources Joint Stock Company needs to recruit 8 male workers in interior finishing, pipe installation, etc., to work in Japan.
Continuing to stand alongside workers
Acting as a "bridge" between businesses and workers, the Can Tho City Employment Service Center consistently supports businesses in recruiting labor through various direct and online methods. Since the beginning of 2025, the Center has organized 10 Employer Meeting Days at its headquarters; collaborated in organizing 4 Job Fairs at universities: Can Tho University, Can Tho University of Technology, Tay Do University,FPT Polytechnic College Can Tho campus, and 1 Job Fair at the Center itself, aiming to help graduating and soon-to-be-graduating students access recruitment opportunities and find jobs. In addition, the Center has coordinated the organization of 12 Job Counseling Points at universities and districts; and organized weekly Job Fairs at Job Cafes. Monthly, the Center sends recruitment needs forms to businesses via email to provide timely support to those seeking employment. Maintain activities to support candidates; focus on promoting awareness campaigns; strengthen coordination and collaboration between schools, centers, and businesses to improve the effectiveness of job placement for students...
In addition, the Center maintains support for businesses and workers by providing information and job counseling through online channels, such as: the Can Tho Job Portal at vieclamcantho.vn, and social networks: Facebook, Zalo, YouTube, and TikTok at the Can Tho Employment Service Center website. In the first six months of 2025, the Center provided counseling and answered questions for over 1,014 customers through online channels; and received 615 calls to the Call-Center (0292.3838 399) on various fields such as domestic and international employment, unemployment insurance, vocational training, etc.
According to the Can Tho City Employment Service Center, the demand for recruitment is expected to continue increasing in the coming period, especially for skilled and professionally qualified workers. From now until the end of 2025, the Center will strengthen the collection of information on recruitment needs of businesses and job-seeking needs of workers, and input monthly labor supply and demand forecast data; enhance activities to promote overseas employment through various forms; strive to maintain the quality of job fairs and diversify the forms of organizing job fair events; and strengthen job counseling and placement for skilled workers through job connection activities at schools such as Job Corners, Job Counseling Cafes, and Job Fairs…
