Meeting of businesses in the Industry and Trade sector in 2025

(CT) - On the afternoon of December 12th, the Department of Industry and Trade of Can Tho City, in coordination with Viet A Commercial Bank - Can Tho Branch, organized a meeting of businesses in the Industry and Trade sector for the year 2025.

The memorandum of understanding was signed at the conference.

Attending and speaking at the conference, Mr. Vuong Quoc Nam, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Can Tho City, praised and highly appreciated the Can Tho City Department of Industry and Trade and Viet A Commercial Joint Stock Bank for proactively coordinating the organization of the conference - a practical activity to support businesses, promote capital flow, expand cooperation opportunities and create a sustainable business ecosystem in the city.

“Over the past period, the city has witnessed many important contributions from the private sector to GRDP, budget revenue, job creation, and economic restructuring. This is the foundation for Can Tho to move towards the goal of becoming the economic, financial, and commercial center of the Mekong Delta region. The results achieved once again affirm that the development of the private economy plays a particularly important role and is the driving force of the economy,” Mr. Vuong Quoc Nam emphasized.

The Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee pledged that the city will always accompany and support the business community and the banking system in their development process; continue to strongly improve the investment and business environment, promote digital transformation in state management, simplify administrative procedures, and reduce time and costs for businesses. At the same time, he assigned tasks to the Department of Industry and Trade, the People's Committees of communes and wards, as well as credit institutions in the city to play an active role and strengthen tripartite coordination: government - banks - businesses…

Representatives of business associations and enterprises frankly stated the advantages and difficulties in their production and business activities; especially emphasizing the importance of capital and the support of credit institutions in promoting efficient business operations.

The conference also included a signing ceremony for a memorandum of cooperation between the Department of Industry and Trade, Viet A Commercial Bank - Can Tho Branch, businesses, and the People's Committees of communes and wards in Can Tho City.

The 2025 Industry and Trade Business Meeting is a significant event in the context of the city implementing various solutions to carry out Resolution No. 68-NQ/TW dated May 4, 2025, of the Politburo on continuing to innovate, develop, and improve the efficiency of the private economy; and at the same time, concretizing Plan No. 31/KH-UBND of the City People's Committee on developing the private economy into an important driving force in the economic growth of Can Tho City. The event contributes to creating conditions to support small and medium-sized enterprises in connecting and accessing capital sources, promoting economic expansion, production, and business, and contributing to the city's growth.
