Earlier, Spain and Italy announced that they were preparing flights to bring their citizens home. Germany also urged its citizens to return home via French evacuation flights.
However, the EU said on the same day that it has not yet made any official plans to evacuate its staff in Niger, but they can repatriate if needed.
The European Commission (EC) also confirmed that there is no risk to nuclear power production in Europe in case Niger restricts uranium exports.
The US government also confirmed that there are no plans to evacuate citizens from Niger at this time because it does not see any direct threats to US citizens and facilities in the West African country.
