At the end of the 2023 crop season, farmers in Tanh Linh district were excited because in the past, if the crop was good, the price would drop and vice versa, but this year's crop was both good and high priced, the average yield reached 55-57 quintals/ha, the selling price fluctuated from 8,300-9,000 VND/1kg of fresh rice, each hectare farmers earned a profit of 30 million VND after deducting costs.
Currently, farmers in the fields in localities in the district are focusing on planting winter-spring rice crops for the 2023-2024 crop.
Mr. Le Van Bay - Lac Hoa 1 Quarter, Lac Tanh Town has just completed sowing winter-spring rice using a rice seed sprayer on an area of 1 hectare in the Big Field and said: Winter-spring rice production has many joys. The first joy is that the last crop had a good price so the profit is high. The second joy is that the state supports microbial fertilizers to continue to maintain and expand the area of linked rice product consumption on a large-scale field. The third joy is that the water source from the electric pumping station ensures the time for sowing winter-spring rice. Mr. Bay hopes that the winter-spring rice price will continue to be as high as the last crop.
In the fields of Duc Binh commune, Mr. Nguyen Anh Duc - Chairman of the Board of Directors of Duc Binh Agricultural Services Cooperative is also actively digging drainage ditches and using a sprayer to sow winter-spring rice. Although the work is busy, Mr. Duc is still happy to share: In the winter-spring crop of 2023-2024, the cooperative will link to consume products with 44 farming households producing rice on an area of 60 hectares in an organic direction. Of which, 20 hectares produce ST25 rice variety, 20 hectares OS20 variety and 20 hectares OM18 variety. In addition, 5 hectares of OM 5451 purebred rice seeds are also produced. Because of the organic production, it requires strict compliance with the process: After harvesting the winter-spring rice, spray pesticides to kill mixed rice varieties and treat straw in the field. Next, add water and proceed to prepare the soil, soak the soil for 10-15 days, then continue to prepare the soil to level the surface of the field, create drainage ditches, drain the water and then plant seeds. Before sowing, mix the seeds with antagonistic microorganisms to increase the disease resistance of the rice plants. Sow sparsely from 12-15 kg of rice seeds/sao. Not only must strict procedures be followed right from the stage of preparing the soil and planting seeds, but during the growth and development of the rice plants, the production process must still be followed to create clean, safe rice products for consumers.
