On November 5, the Da Nang City Labor Federation visited and presented gifts to encourage businesses and union members affected by the recent historic floods.

At the places visited by the delegation (Hoi An ward, Dien Ban ward, Duy Xuyen commune, Nam Phuoc commune, Dai Loc commune, Da Nang city), most businesses, companies, factories and plants were severely affected by floods.

Many union members gathered to clean up the flood for the company, while the houses were still in disarray.

At Gami Hoi An Joint Stock Company (Hoi An Ward), the leaders of the Da Nang City Labor Federation encouraged the business owner and nearly 400 union members at the company. For each union member whose property was damaged due to floods, the Da Nang City Labor Federation supported 2 million VND/case.

Mr. Nguyen Xuan Ha, Internal Management Director of Gami Hoi An Joint Stock Company (Hoi An Ward) said that the recent floods were "beyond imagination", exceeding all scenarios set by the company. The floods damaged a series of machines and equipment of the company. Many employees had their property swept away by the flood, vehicles were submerged in the sea of ​​water, causing heavy damage.

"However, immediately after the flood, the Company's leaders as well as the local Trade Union encouraged workers to come to the company, join hands to clean up the damage after the flood, quickly return to work, and be ready to open the door to welcome guests," said Mr. Nguyen Xuan Ha, at the same time thanking the timely encouragement of the City Labor Federation and local authorities.

Also submerged in the recent historic flood, on the morning of November 5, at Anh Sang 7 Garment Factory (Tan Minh Textile and Garment Trading Company Limited, Nam Phuoc Commune, Da Nang City), there were still traces of mud.

Inside the garment factory, many workers were busy checking and testing operations. Most of the sewing machines, production lines, electronic components… were flooded.

Receiving support from the Da Nang City Labor Federation, Ms. Truong Thi Hoa (born in 1970, a company janitor) suddenly burst into tears. In the recent rain, the family's refrigerator, TV, gas stove, motorbike, etc. were all submerged in the silver water. This morning, Ms. Hoa still tried to go to work: "to earn some money to feed her children", she said.

"After the flood, there was nothing left. Now that I received the gift from the City Union, my tears just kept flowing, I couldn't hold back," this union member expressed.

There is a plan to take care of Tet, giving priority to union members affected by floods

Mr. Truong Duc Thinh, Deputy General Director of Tan Minh Textile and Garment Trading Company, said that the floods not only caused property damage, but also seriously affected the progress of orders, especially as Tet approached.

However, the most important thing now is to restore the infrastructure system, call on workers to return to the factory, and try to stabilize production. "The gift from the Da Nang City Labor Federation is a great motivation for us to try and be determined to restore production as soon as possible," said Mr. Truong Duc Thinh.

There are 552 union members here. Hundreds of people have had their properties damaged by the recent historic floods.

Speaking to reporters, Mr. Le Van Dai, Permanent Vice President of the Da Nang City Labor Federation, said that up to now, in Da Nang, there are about 17,000 workers affected by floods, of which 9,300 workers suffered property damage. These workers will be supported by the Da Nang City Labor Federation with a level of 2 million VND/case.

According to statistics, there are 28 businesses with major losses. The Labor Federation will visit, encourage, and support businesses to overcome difficulties at this time. Some businesses have made recommendations to the city, requiring support policies such as bank debt forgiveness, tax reduction, etc. The Labor Federation of Da Nang City will send these opinions to the authorities to soon have support measures.

"Currently, the Da Nang City Labor Federation has a plan to take care of union members and workers during Tet. In particular, it has included union members who lost property due to floods in the list, to continue to support them and help them stabilize their lives soon," said the Standing Vice President of the Da Nang City Labor Federation.

Enterprises spend more than 15 billion VND for workers to overcome flood consequences

Recently, Sedo Vinako Company Limited (located in Dong Yen Industrial Park, Duy Xuyen Commune) decided to support more than 15 billion VND for more than 5,000 workers and laborers in the unit, equivalent to a support level of 3 million VND/case.

It is known that in recent years, Sedo Vinako Company Limited has always fully implemented the salary and welfare regime according to regulations. Promoted reproductive health care activities for pregnant female employees and those with young children, visited and provided emergency assistance. All employees received regular health check-ups.

Coming to encourage the company's leaders, officers and employees, Mr. Le Van Dai, Permanent Vice President of the Da Nang City Labor Federation, highly appreciated the work of taking care of the lives of union members here. Together with the company's leaders, the Da Nang City Labor Federation will also give support packages to workers, accompanying union members through the most difficult period.
