Nurse promptly saves 19-month-old baby from cardiac arrest

Discovering a child in the village suffering from cardiac arrest after falling into a lake, nurse Le Thi Ha promptly handled the situation to help the child overcome the critical condition.

On November 17, information from Quang Tri General Hospital said that the unit had just completed discharge procedures for a child who had previously suffered cardiac arrest after falling into a lake.

P. was discharged from the hospital after nearly 2 weeks of treatment.

Previously, on November 4, TNGP (19 months old, residing in Trieu Phong commune, Quang Tri) unfortunately fell into the lake. After 5-7 minutes, his sister discovered him and brought him to shore.

Luckily, P. lives in the same village as Ms. Le Thi Ha (nurse at the Pediatrics Department, Quang Tri General Hospital). When she discovered the incident, Ms. Ha immediately appeared, used her experience and handled the cardiac arrest situation.

After 10 minutes of emergency care, P. showed positive signs and was transferred to Trieu Hai Regional General Hospital, then to the Pediatrics Department, Quang Tri Provincial General Hospital for continued intensive care.

After 12 days of treatment, P. is currently awake, responsive, stable, and was discharged on November 15.

P.'s family sent their thanks to nurse Ha for providing timely first aid to help the child through the critical stage.
