Learn to live independently and calmly in the face of all difficulties
Due to her family's difficult circumstances, Vu Thi Hai Anh started working in the 8th grade as a customer service representative for a company that sells technology and foreign language products for office workers. In addition, she did small jobs such as tape removal for research centers, manual work and some voice-related work.

Vu Thi Hai Anh has achieved many admirable titles.
"The 3 months of summer working there gave me many valuable lessons, such as learning how to be proactive in finding recruitment information, writing a resume for interviews. Then learning how to communicate and behave professionally, how to adapt to a new working environment. Learning how to be responsible for myself, knowing how to value money and labor. Looking back, I see that first job not only helped me earn more income, but was also a "starting step" to help me grow up, become more confident and understand better the value of labor."

The memory that she remembers most is the way to work that day. The company office was on a high floor, to get up you had to go up an old, narrow, steep iron staircase. For a blind person, that was quite a challenge.
The first few days, Hai Anh was both scared and trembling, only daring to walk very slowly. After a few times, she told herself "I have to get used to it", and gradually remembered each step and each turn. Thanks to the walking stick, moving was less difficult.
Hanoi is crowded and noisy, so getting around was quite difficult at first. But every time she was able to go to work, meet and discuss work with her partner or return to her rented room safely, the young girl felt happy and proud because she had done what seemed very difficult.
During her time as a student, she still did many different jobs. In addition to studying, Hai Anh interned at an NGO , so she had to travel far for work. Her income was enough for her to spend if she saved and planned properly.
"I'm renting a room with a friend, and I live completely independently because my parents are in the countryside and I have no relatives in Hanoi. At first, I felt a bit sad and sorry for myself, but I see it as an opportunity to practice resilience, learn to live independently and stay calm in the face of all difficulties," she said.
Currently, she is the President of the Humanistic Stone Flower Club, Vice President of the Vietnam Blind Students Network, under the Vietnam Blind Association. Thanks to these activities, she has the opportunity to interact with many organizations and units, as well as learn how to work professionally, how to organize community projects and most of all, clearly see the power of solidarity - when everyone can contribute, whether disabled or not.

Love is more than just a feeling
Talking about love, Hai Anh shared: "Love is a very beautiful part of life, a beautiful light without barriers, but at the present time, I want to prioritize studying and community activities. I think when I am not really stable, I should not enter into a serious relationship, because love is not just a simple emotion but also a responsibility."
Hai Anh shared that love is the kind of feeling that makes people live more gently, caring and tolerant. She also had a crush a few times, but instead of trying to force love, she chose to let things come naturally.

Hai Anh is confident with her current life, she loves her job and is passionate about community activities.
Revealing a little about the person who will make her feel affection, Hai Anh said: "Usually they are people who talk well, are tactful, know how to listen and make you feel comfortable. As for those who flirt, sometimes they are just for fun, to really have affection, there must be harmony."
Hai Anh humorously joked: "I often joke with my friends that God is probably still busy writing the script so he hasn't given me the main role in any love story yet. There are a few people that catch my attention, I find them lovable, we talk well together, sometimes my heart "skips a beat" a little, but not to the point of being infatuated, forgetting to eat or sleep. I think the most beautiful feeling is when you keep a little curiosity, a little excitement...".
The girl expressed her wish for a normal but sincere love. When two hearts are in harmony, even if one does not see the light, the other can still be willing to step into the other's world to build a life together and bring happiness to each other.
- Hai Anh is the Capital's Reading Culture Ambassador in 2019; won the Special Prize of the 48th UPU International Letter Writing Competition.
- In 2022, Hai Anh is a National Outstanding Youth with Disabilities in the program "Shining Vietnamese Willpower"; in 2023, his name is on the list of 107 excellent valedictorians receiving the "Supporting Valedictorians" scholarship.
- In 2024, she was nominated and honored by the Central Committee of the Vietnam Youth Union as one of the Top 20 Youth with Beautiful Lives nationwide. In the same year, she was nominated by the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union as one of the 10 national volunteer faces.
