On April 24, the Ministry of Industry and Trade issued a notice warning Vietnamese businesses about risks related to Chongqing Hongjiu Fruit Products Joint Stock Company (China).
According to information from the Vietnam Trade Office in China, the Chairman of the Board of Directors and several senior leaders of Chongqing Hongjiu Fruit Products Joint Stock Company (China) are being subject to criminal enforcement measures due to their involvement in a case of loan fraud and/or false VAT invoices. This case is being investigated by Chongqing City Police.
Chongqing Hongjiu Fruit Products Co., Ltd. is one of the largest fruit enterprises in China, with the English name Chongqing Hongjiu Fruit Co., Limited. The company's representative is Jiang Zongying. According to the registration information, this enterprise has the code 91500103742896264D, the website is www.hjfruit.com and was established on October 12, 2002.
Notably, some Chinese media reported that the company's headquarters in Chongqing had been restricted by authorities. "Although the case has not yet been officially concluded by Chinese authorities, information about the investigation has been widely reported on mainstream media channels, as this is a large enterprise in the fruit sector," the Vietnam Trade Office in China added.
The Ministry of Industry and Trade recommends that Vietnamese enterprises closely monitor information from Chinese authorities and the press to promptly update related developments. At the same time, enterprises need to proactively review contracts, transactions and shipments related to Chongqing Hongjiu Fruit Products Joint Stock Company or Chinese enterprises under investigation, to prevent financial and payment risks.
In addition, businesses need to carefully research information and the situation of the partners they plan to cooperate with, and closely review cooperation agreements to avoid legal and financial risks that affect the reputation and interests of the business.
The Ministry of Industry and Trade said it will continue to coordinate with relevant agencies to closely monitor developments in the case and will update information to the Vietnamese business community as soon as there are new developments.
