On October 25th, the Command of Coast Guard Region 2, in coordination with the Department of Education and Training; the Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department of Quang Ngai province and Da Nang city, launched the online competition "I Love My Homeland's Sea and Islands" for the 2025-2026 school year, open to students from 92 junior high schools in 19 coastal communes and wards of Quang Ngai province and Da Nang city.

In his opening remarks at the competition, Colonel Tran Hong Que, Deputy Political Commissar of Coast Guard Region 2 and Head of the Organizing Committee, emphasized that the competition not only creates a beneficial and healthy playground for students but also contributes to arousing their passion for learning and raising their awareness of the position and role of the sea and islands in the cause of national construction and defense.
This fosters love for the homeland and national pride, while also raising civic awareness of the responsibility to protect the sacred sovereignty of the nation's seas and islands from an early age, even while still in school.
According to the plan, the competition will be held from October 25, 2025 to March 2026 with three rounds: commune/ward level; provincial level and regional final (the regional level will include teams from 5 provinces and cities: Quang Tri, Hue, Da Nang, Quang Ngai and Gia Lai).
The contest content is rich, combining direct and online contests with many attractive and familiar contests such as: "Going out to sea", "Crossing the waves", "Arriving at the shore", "Setting sovereignty markers".
