The Pixel 10 series has been on the market for several months, and while it's been well-received, its wireless charging capabilities have been a major disappointment. Users and experts alike have noted that the Pixel 10's wireless charging speed is inconsistent and even difficult to use with most older Qi accessories.

The Pixel 10, 10 Pro, and 10 Pro Fold support the Qi2 standard with a maximum speed of 15W, while the 10 Pro XL, thanks to its better cooling system, can reach 25W. On paper, these figures are equivalent to or exceed the Qi1 standard that Samsung achieved back in 2019.

However, in reality, the Pixel 10 only achieves its maximum charging speed with a certified Qi2 charger, while older Qi1 or MagSafe chargers are almost useless.

Tests have shown that the Pixel 10 series sometimes only charges at 5W or even drops to 3W, with charging stopping abruptly. A Pixel 10 Pro can take up to eight hours to fully charge from 27% on an older wireless charger, something older Samsung phones can do steadily within a few hours.

Compared to Samsung, the Galaxy S23 Ultra, when using a 15W Qi2 charger, still charges stably even with a magnetic case, proving that a nearly three-year-old phone can still perform more smoothly than the new Pixel 10. This is a major disappointment for users expecting a convenient wireless charging experience, especially as the Pixel 10 is becoming increasingly popular and breaking Google's sales records.

The problem extends to everyday situations: wireless chargers at McDonald's or in cars are not guaranteed to be compatible with the Pixel 10. Users can't expect car manufacturers or restaurants to change their technology just to support one phone model, leading to failed and frustrating charging experiences.

While the Pixel 10 still offers other strengths such as design and smart features, its unstable wireless charging capability certainly hinders its development and user experience. If Google wants to compete strongly with Apple and Samsung in the smartphone market, it needs to immediately improve this wireless charging issue and ensure it works effectively with most available accessories.
