Ms. Nguyen Thi Lam Giang, Department of Innovation, Green Transformation and Industrial Promotion, said that the seminar was organized within the framework of the national trade promotion event series "The First Autumn Fair - 2025" chaired by the Ministry of Industry and Trade , taking place at VEC, Dong Anh, Hanoi city.
According to Ms. Nguyen Thi Lam Giang, the year 2025 will face challenges from global economic fluctuations and tariff policies, requiring accelerated disbursement of public investment capital, boosting production and exports and improving the business environment to achieve high growth targets.
In that general achievement, there is an important contribution of industrial promotion work, notably trade promotion activities that have provided timely support to rural enterprises and industrial establishments to overcome difficulties, promote production and business activities and develop the market.
“However, in the context of globalization and deep integration, Green transformation and sustainable development have become urgent requirements. Industries must innovate technology, move towards cleaner production and apply circular economy,” Ms. Nguyen Thi Lam Giang emphasized.

Recognizing the important role of innovation and green transformation, the Department of Innovation, Green Transformation and Industrial Promotion organized a workshop with the desire to introduce policies, exchange and share experiences on sustainable development and green transformation in industries; introduce models, technological solutions, cleaner production and circular economy. From there, propose solutions to promote green transformation in industrial production.
“The workshop is very rich and high-quality, with the participation of leading experts and typical enterprises such as Daikin Vietnam, Toshiba Vietnam, Vietnam Leather, Footwear and Handbag Association, Bao Minh Industrial Park Infrastructure Investment Joint Stock Company... We will discuss together core topics such as greenhouse gas emission reduction policies, circular economy in the textile and garment industry and advanced technology solutions”, the leader of the Department of Innovation, Green Transformation and Industrial Promotion informed.
Ms. Tran Thu Hang, representative of the Department of Energy Efficiency and Green Transformation, said that the trend of sustainable development is becoming an inevitable requirement of the industrialization process on a global scale.
Ms. Tran Thu Hang emphasized: “Sustainable development is not only a long-term goal but also a mandatory path for the Industry and Trade sector to improve its competitiveness, ensuring harmony between economic growth and environmental protection.” According to Ms. Hang, in the context of deep integration, Vietnamese enterprises need to consider green transformation as part of their development strategy, not just a compliance requirement.
From the implementation practice, the representative of the Department of Energy Efficiency and Green Transformation said that the Industry and Trade sector is focusing on implementing a number of major policy orientations to promote sustainable development in industrial production. In particular, perfecting the legal system and technical standards on green production is identified as one of the key tasks, creating a legal corridor for the green transformation process to take place synchronously and effectively.
Along with that, the Ministry of Industry and Trade is promoting programs to support businesses in technological innovation, improving productivity, reducing emissions in the production chain; encouraging the development of a circular economic model, and efficient use of energy and resources.
On that basis, the Energy Efficiency and Green Transformation Department has proposed five key groups of solutions to promote sustainable development and green transformation in industrial production. The solution groups focus on improving legal policies; enhancing the application of science and technology ; developing green human resources; expanding international cooperation; and raising public awareness.
According to Ms. Tran Thu Hang, first of all, it is necessary to complete the national legal policy framework, as a basis for ministries, branches, localities and enterprises to proactively implement sustainable development programs and models. Ms. Hang affirmed: "The close coordination of localities, industry associations and domestic and international organizations also plays a very important role, contributing to effectively supporting the Ministry of Industry and Trade in the process of implementing the set goals."
The representative of the Energy Efficiency and Green Transformation Department also said that financial resources are the key factor to help businesses deploy sustainable production models and innovate in potential areas. At the same time, it is necessary to strengthen communication and training activities to raise awareness of businesses and workers about sustainable development in the context of the 4.0 industrial revolution.
Ms. Hang also emphasized the importance of international cooperation, considering it an important channel to attract international resources and experience to serve the implementation of priority policies and programs on sustainable development and green transformation in the industry and trade sector.
These solutions are expected to make an important contribution to realizing the goal of green growth, reducing greenhouse gas emissions and enhancing the position of the Industry and Trade sector in the national sustainable development process.
