- On September 16th, Comrade Vu Hong Thanh, Member of the Central Committee of the Party and Vice Chairman of the National Assembly, along with a delegation from the National Assembly's Economic and Financial Committee, worked with the Provincial People's Committee on the implementation of National Assembly resolutions on socio-economic development in the province.

Attending the working session, on the provincial side were: Mr. Hoang Van Nghiem, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Head of the Provincial National Assembly Delegation; Mr. Ho Tien Thieu, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; leaders of the Provincial People's Council; and leaders of several provincial departments and agencies.

According to the report presented at the meeting, with the decisive and flexible leadership of the Provincial People's Committee, along with the efforts and determination of the entire political system, the business community, and the people, the province's socio-economic development in 2025 will continue to be comprehensive, with many bright spots. Specifically, agricultural production will remain stable; industrial production will continue to grow, with 13 out of 13 key industrial products showing growth compared to the same period; import and export activities will achieve high customs clearance efficiency; and state budget revenue will exceed the assigned target.

Comrade Ho Tien Thieu, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, spoke to clarify some issues at the working session.

Many cultural and artistic activities linked to important political events of the country and the province were organized, creating an atmosphere of enthusiasm; the work of streamlining the organizational structure and implementing the two-tiered local government model was focused on, ensuring regular, continuous, and uninterrupted operation; national defense and security were maintained, and social order and safety remained stable. The projected economic growth rate for 2025 is 8.41%.

Regarding the projected socio-economic development plan for 2026, the province strives to achieve several key targets such as: an economic growth rate of 10-11%; a per capita GDP of 78-79 million VND; a 10-11% increase in local export turnover; and total budget revenue of 9,850 billion VND...

Also on the agenda, delegates heard reports on the implementation results of Resolution No. 16 dated July 27, 2021, of the National Assembly on the 5-year socio-economic development plan for the period 2021-2025 and the projected socio-economic development plan for the next 5 years; the implementation results of Resolution No. 31 dated November 12, 2021, of the National Assembly on the plan for restructuring the economy for the period 2021-2025; the results of arranging and allocating offices and facilities when implementing the administrative unit rearrangement according to Resolution No. 202 dated June 12, 2025, of the National Assembly on the rearrangement of provincial-level administrative units; and the implementation of several projects in the province according to Resolution No. 106 dated November 28, 2023, of the National Assembly on piloting some specific policies on investment in road construction projects.

After hearing the reports, the delegates focused on exchanging and discussing, clarifying several issues related to the implementation of socio-economic development goals for 2026 as well as the 2026-2031 period, especially the growth target; the implementation of land clearance for the two expressway projects: Dong Dang (Lang Son province) - Tra Linh (Cao Bang province) and the Huu Nghi border gate - Chi Lang expressway project under the BOT model; the implementation of the two-tiered local government model; the reorganization of the organizational structure, human resources, and public assets; digital transformation in remote and disadvantaged communes; some issues related to economic structure; and investment at border gates...

Comrade Vu Hong Thanh, Member of the Central Committee of the Party and Vice Chairman of the National Assembly, delivered a speech guiding the working session.

Speaking at the working session, the Vice Chairman of the National Assembly commended and acknowledged the achievements that Lang Son province has made in socio-economic development in recent years. Notably, the province has achieved positive economic growth, a well-directed shift in its economic structure, and high results in socio-economic development indicators.

Besides the achievements, the province still has limitations that need to be overcome, such as the limited scale of the economy; the low added value of industrial enterprises, as well as other limitations related to attracting investment and developing production...

The comrade suggested that in the coming period, Lang Son province should continue to implement solutions to develop socio-economic aspects, overcome the low achievement of targets and objectives; accelerate infrastructure development, improve the investment and business environment, and attract investment; continue to develop industrial zones, clusters, and border economic zones; focus on accelerating the implementation of projects, especially key projects... Thereby promoting socio-economic development in the province.

Based on the opinions expressed at the meeting, Lang Son province will supplement and finalize the report to be submitted to the National Assembly's Economic and Financial Committee before September 20, 2025.

Speaking at the meeting, the Provincial Party Secretary acknowledged the opinions of the Vice Chairman of the National Assembly as well as the opinions of the working group. In the coming time, the province will continue to focus on leading and directing the successful implementation of the growth targets for 2025 and subsequent years; directing the overcoming of difficulties and obstacles related to land clearance for projects... At the same time, he hoped that the Vice Chairman of the National Assembly and the working group would continue to pay attention to, share, and support the province in resolving difficulties and obstacles, thereby successfully achieving the set goals and tasks.
