Hoa Chau Ward Party Secretary, police force and local people rescued people swept away by floodwaters on the night of October 28.

At about 9:30 p.m. on October 28, after receiving a report from residents that someone was being swept away by water in Phu Ngan residential group, the ward police, along with the on-duty force at the ward Party Committee and residents, dispatched boats and rescued the two people.

The victim was Nguyen Thanh Thien (born in 1991) who was clinging to a tree, and his companion, Tran Hoi, was floundering in the water. These two people lived in Tan Xuan Lai village, Quang Dien commune, and while traveling, they were swept away to Hoa Chau (a distance of 1km).

When brought to the headquarters, Mr. Th. was still conscious, while Mr. H. was exhausted. After being cared for and resuscitated on the spot, Mr. H.'s health has stabilized, he can eat and talk.

Previously, on the morning of October 28, the flood prevention force of Hoa Chau ward also rescued Nguyen Phi Hung and his daughter living in Phu residential area (Hoa Chau) while their boat capsized while checking their store.

The timely and brave actions of the on-duty forces at the Hoa Chau Ward Party Committee and the people contributed to ensuring the safety of victims' lives in complicated flood conditions.

Two residents of Quang Dien were cared for and fed at the headquarters of the Hoa Chau Ward Party Committee.

The water level is still high, local authorities asked the four drowned people to stay at the headquarters, avoiding dangerous movement in the flood.

Due to its low-lying location, Hoa Chau Ward has been heavily flooded for many days. Mr. Tran Ngoc Duong, Secretary of the Hoa Chau Ward Party Committee, said that he has developed on-site logistics plans to serve the long-term flood and storm prevention work at the Ward Party Committee headquarters.

Hoa Chau ward authorities recommend that people should not go out... when it rains heavily or the water level is rising to ensure the safety of themselves and the community.
