PVU receives new cycle of Education Quality Accreditation Certificate

Vietnam Oil and Gas University (PVU) has just organized the 'Announcement of Decision and Awarding of Certificate of Educational Quality Accreditation of Vietnam Oil and Gas University'.

At the ceremony, representatives of the Center for Education Quality Assessment - Association of Vietnamese Universities and Colleges officially announced the decision and awarded the Certificate of Educational Institution Quality Assessment to PVU. The event took place in the solemn atmosphere of the 2025 Graduation Ceremony and the opening of the new school year 2025-2026.

According to the Certificate, Vietnam National University of Petroleum is recognized to have met the educational quality standards with validity until April 21, 2030. Notably, the assessment results show that PVU's overall quality reached 4.52. This is the highest score ever among all universities assessed by the Center for Educational Quality Assessment - Association of Vietnamese Universities and Colleges. In addition, according to statistics, with this result, PVU is currently ranked second among universities conducting educational quality assessment according to the standards of the Ministry of Education and Training - affirming PVU's excellence in the national higher education system.

At the ceremony, Associate Professor Dr. Tran Xuan Nhi - Permanent Vice President of the Association of Vietnamese Universities and Colleges sent his congratulations to the Board of Directors, teachers and students of PVU, who are enjoying the healthy educational environment of a university that meets accreditation standards. After 5 years, PVU continues to meet the second accreditation standards for educational institutions, qualified to train high-quality human resources to serve the country's oil and gas - energy sector.

Receiving this second Certificate continues to affirm PVU's commitment to quality. Previously, on April 6, 2020, PVU was announced to receive the first Certificate of Educational Institution Quality Accreditation. Receiving the second Certificate of Educational Institution Quality Accreditation, valid until 2030, is an affirmation that PVU has maintained and developed quality assurance work according to national standards.

Deputy Director of the Department of Higher Education, Dr. Dang Van Huan congratulated the staff, lecturers and students of PVU, affirming that the event of awarding the Certificate of Educational Institution Quality Accreditation is "a milestone recognizing the continuous efforts and the beginning of a new journey of many aspirations of PVU".

Dr. Dang Van Huan especially appreciated PVU's achievements with two times achieving the quality assessment score of educational institutions and especially 100% of university training programs meeting ABET international standards (USA), bringing "international passports" to students. In addition, PVU has a high-quality teaching staff with 69% of lecturers holding PhD degrees and an impressive rate of international scientific publications. The fact that 50% of PVU students of the 10th course have jobs before graduation is a clear proof of the quality of training linked to market needs.

Regarding future orientation, Dr. Dang Van Huan emphasized that PVU needs to thoroughly grasp the spirit of innovation and promote the "Corporate University" model to become the central entity of the national science, technology and innovation ecosystem. At the same time, the school needs to play a pioneering role in training human resources for the national energy transition (Green Engineers) and promote innovation in university governance on a digital platform, with the oil and gas - energy industry as the core.

At the ceremony, Dr. Phan Minh Quoc Binh - Principal of the school affirmed that the achievements were thanks to PVU's steadfastness in the philosophy "Quality is the honor of the school". Receiving the Certificate of Educational Institution Quality Accreditation this time has firmly consolidated PVU's position, opening a new school year 2025-2026 full of energy and promising new achievements, contributing to the sustainable development of Petrovietnam and the country.
