Due to the impact of prolonged heavy rain, the work of repairing traffic routes in Son Tay Ha commune, Quang Ngai province has encountered many difficulties. The whole commune currently has 53 landslides, of which the main road DH83 has collapsed, causing Son Tay Ha commune to be isolated, especially 170 households in the two villages of Dak Pao and Dak Panh.

On Route DH83, the section passing through Dak Pao and Dak Panh villages is the most serious landslide area. Specifically, in Dak Pao village, there are 10 landslide points, with an estimated volume of about 2,000m³ of rock and soil, stretching over 200m. In Dak Panh village, the road has a large landslide point with a volume of about 1,000m³, about 10m long. These are two key locations, completely cutting off traffic for people.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Tinh, Chairman of the People's Committee of Son Tay Ha Commune, said: Currently, the two villages of Dak Pao and Dak Panh have not restored mobile signal, electricity, traffic routes are not open, and there is no gasoline. People have to carry gasoline to buy gasoline, and motorbikes have to be carried through landslides.
“Son Tay Ha commune is facing a lot of difficulties. Many villages have not had electricity for several days now, and the roads are blocked due to landslides. Currently, people are in dire need of food support, especially in the two villages of Dak Pao and Dak Panh,” Ms. Tinh shared.

While waiting for the landslide on the main road DH83 to be repaired, people in Son Tay Ha commune can only follow the Son Tinh - Son Thuong route (now Son Tay Ha - Son Ha) to the plain, but this route is currently very muddy and eroded, people who want to cross have to walk or carry motorbikes.
The Chairman of the Commune People's Committee said that the locality hopes that the competent authorities will urgently support the solution by pouring aggregate for people to circulate, and at the same time, soon invest in the foundation and road surface of the Son Tinh - Son Thuong route with a length of about 3.5km remaining (the section passing through Son Ha commune), helping to connect inter-commune trade and promptly serve the work of responding to natural disasters and incidents.

According to forecasts of continued heavy rain in Quang Ngai province in the coming time, the People's Committee of Son Tay Ha commune has strengthened the deployment of shock forces to organize inspections and screening of residential areas along rivers, streams, low-lying areas, at risk of flash floods, landslides.
Arrange forces to guard and control people and vehicles in areas at risk of deep flooding and landslides. Continue to mobilize forces, materials and vehicles to overcome incidents and ensure smooth traffic on traffic routes in the management area when heavy rain occurs.
