Accordingly, on the evening of August 30, Quang Tri Provincial Police received a report that 6 people from Tan Phu village, Huong Hiep commune were isolated while working in a cajuput forest in Hieu Giang commune. Prolonged heavy rain, rising river water, and strong currents made it impossible for the group to escape the flood to return home.
Immediately after receiving the information, the Fire Prevention and Rescue Police Team (PC07) of Area 6 urgently mobilized 7 officers, soldiers and vehicles to the scene at 7:00 p.m. Determining the complicated situation, the unit requested support from Area 1 with 14 more soldiers, a vehicle and a rescue boat.
In the dark, amidst the rain, wind and raging flood, the rescue canoe crossed the raging water to reach the location. The officers and soldiers reassured the people, gradually bringing the 6 victims safely onto the canoe. By 9:20 p.m., all 6 people were brought to a safe shelter, in stable health.

Previously, on the afternoon of August 30, the Fire Prevention and Rescue Police Department, Quang Tri Provincial Police also coordinated with Huong Hiep Commune Police to successfully rescue 5 people who were also trapped due to rapidly rising flood waters in the area near the spillway of Hieu Giang Commune.
The timely rescue of people trapped by floods once again affirms the sense of responsibility and professionalism of the Quang Tri Provincial Police force, contributing to protecting people's lives in the face of complex natural disasters.
