Quang Yen maintains growth momentum

The socio-economic picture in the first five months of 2025 clearly demonstrated the local government's determination to act synchronously and flexibly, creating a solid foundation for the 18.9% growth target for the year.

Industry and construction play a leading role.

At a time when many localities are facing difficulties in production, Quang Yen town is witnessing a period of vibrant development. In particular, the industry - construction sector continues to play the role of a growth engine of the economy . The industrial production value in the first 5 months of the year reached nearly 18,600 billion VND, an increase of 17% over the same period in 2024. Many key industrial groups have had remarkable growth, such as: TV screen output increased by 141.4%; speakers and headphones increased by 91.3%; commercial electricity increased by 52.7%; Ha Long beer increased by 111.1%...

These are not only technical figures, but also evidence of the strong recovery and development capacity of enterprises operating in industrial parks in Quang Yen, such as Dong Mai, Song Khoai, Bac Tien Phong...

Along with industry, Quang Yen's construction industry continued to thrive with a total production value of VND 5,917 billion in the first 5 months, up 122.1% over the same period in 2024. In particular, the total social investment capital in the first 5 months of the year is estimated at VND 9,590.6 billion, up 126.4% (mostly from foreign-invested projects). This shows the strong attraction of Quang Yen in attracting FDI, especially in well-planned industrial parks.

The town has also achieved a fairly high progress in disbursing capital for basic construction investment, about 30% of the annual plan. The projects that have been focused on disbursing include industrial park infrastructure projects, inter-regional traffic connections, new rural construction projects and civil works. Proactive management, closely following reality, has helped Quang Yen not only attract investment effectively, but also use capital in the right focus and at the right time.

Finance and budget are another bright spot of Quang Yen. Total state budget revenue in the first 5 months of the year reached 623 billion VND, equal to 52% of the estimate, up 8.7% over the same period. Of which, taxes and fees reached 548 billion VND (up 26%), showing the vitality of the domestic economy. Although land use revenue decreased due to slow project progress, other stable revenues helped Quang Yen balance expenditure and revenue effectively. Total budget expenditure reached 718 billion VND, up 63.3% over the same period, with priority given to development investment and ensuring social security.

Services and tourism flourish

Along with industry, the trade and service sector in Quang Yen is recording a strong recovery and contributing greatly to the overall economic growth. Total retail sales of goods and consumer service revenue in the first 5 months of the year reached VND 8,932.7 billion, up 55.9% over the same period. In May alone, revenue from this sector reached VND 2,040 billion. These growth figures show that domestic consumption demand is maintained and the goods market is circulating effectively.

Not only trading goods, Quang Yen tourism also recorded many positive signals. With more than 90,000 visitors in May, the tourism industry has had a remarkable recovery. Bach Dang National Special Relic Site is a prominent destination, attracting a large number of tourists thanks to its unique cultural and historical values. Tourism revenue in May reached about 50 billion VND, opening up prospects for sustainable recovery for the smokeless industry.

Trade promotion and tourism promotion activities are also organized synchronously, including connecting the consumption of OCOP products, participating in the Red River Delta - Quang Ninh fair and promoting local tourism products until 2030. These efforts not only create momentum for economic development, but also contribute to enhancing the image of Quang Yen on the Northern tourism map.

In the agricultural sector, the town still maintains stable production and focuses on quality. The total planting area for the 2024-2025 winter-spring crop is 4,251 hectares, including 2,789 hectares of winter-spring rice. Pest control and care work is seriously implemented. Livestock and aquaculture also maintain a stable production pace, without major epidemics. In particular, the town has completed support for production recovery for aquaculture households affected by storm No. 3 in 2024.

The even growth in key economic sectors shows that Quang Yen is on the right track and effectively seizing opportunities. Although there are still some difficulties, such as delays in site clearance, handling of petitions, progress in handling inspection conclusions... However, these issues have been identified by the town as the focus to be resolved in the coming months.

Chairman of Quang Yen Town People's Committee Tran Duc Thang said: With the growth target of over 18.9% set at the beginning of the year, Quang Yen is preparing to make a breakthrough in the second half of 2025. Tasks such as accelerating public investment progress, attracting FDI enterprises, improving the investment environment, promoting e-commerce, developing sustainable agriculture and enhancing urban management capacity are all integrated into the direction of the local government. With strong growth momentum in the first half of the year, Quang Yen is confidently continuing its development journey, affirming its position as one of the most dynamic investment and growth destinations in the Northeast region.
