Mount Cam, located in An Hao commune, Tinh Bien district, An Giang province, stands at approximately 710 meters above sea level. Also known as Thien Cam Son, it is more than 250km from Ho Chi Minh City. It is the highest mountain in the That Son range, a unique and distinctive mountainous region not only of An Giang province but also of the entire Mekong Delta.
Mount Cam boasts a system of historical and religious relics, along with a diverse and rich forest ecosystem and unique natural landscapes, making it an attractive destination. The Mount Cam tourist and pilgrimage area is integrated into important tourist routes in An Giang province, such as: Long Xuyen – Chau Doc – Mount Sam – Mount Cam – Tuc Dup – Ba The – Mount Sap…
From June to September each year, Mount Cam attracts a large number of tourists who come to visit historical sites, experience cloud hunting, and bathe in Thanh Long stream. In recent years, many people have chosen trekking to explore Mount Cam. This is considered an ideal way to admire the pristine beauty and enjoy the fresh air of this destination.
According to Duong Viet Anh, a tour guide at Nui Cam, tourists often choose a 2-day, 1-night cloud-hunting and stream-bathing tour. The tour includes visiting attractions such as the Maitreya Buddha statue, Van Linh Pagoda, Big Buddha Pagoda, experiencing cloud hunting, bathing in Thanh Long stream, and spending the night at a homestay, enjoying local specialties.
The highlight of the Mount Cam tour in the summer is Thanh Long stream.
With an elevation of over 250m and a length of 4.25km, Thanh Long Stream is recognized as the longest stream in An Giang province. During the dry season (from December to April of the following year), the stream sometimes dries up completely, but when the rainy season arrives, cool, green water rushes down from the crevices and cliffs, creating a majestic and attractive scene for tourists.
Visitors have many ways to reach Thanh Long Stream. Elderly people and children can hire local motorbike taxis. Younger visitors can ride motorbikes to experience the winding curves and steep slopes on the way down to the stream, or participate in trekking.
According to An Giang newspaper, Mount Cam has several famous streams, such as Thanh Long, O Tuk Sa, and Thuy Liem... Thanh Long stream originates from streams and Thanh Long lake, with a capacity of approximately 255,000 m3. Thuy Liem stream originates from Thuy Liem lake located on the mountaintop, with a capacity of nearly 300,000 m3.
"At Thanh Long Stream, visitors will find peace, be close to nature, and comfortably enjoy themselves and cool off with friends and family. On weekday mornings, it's not too crowded, so it's also an ideal spot for photography enthusiasts," Viet Anh shared.
During this season, a tour of Mount Cam also offers visitors the unforgettable experience of cloud hunting in the early morning. In fact, at many times throughout the day, after each rain shower, clouds often rush in, covering the mountains and forests, creating a magical and poetic scene.
According to An Giang province's tourism development plan, Mount Cam is envisioned as a pilgrimage, resort, and ecotourism destination, aiming to provide visitors with new, attractive, and exciting experiences.
According to the An Giang Trade and Investment Promotion Center, the Cam Mountain trekking activity has been maintained by the unit for the past two years, attracting a large number of tourists and athletes from many places.
