Specifically, a quick report from the Bac Giang Provincial Department of Health on October 21st stated that more than 40 workers at Shinsung Vina Co., Ltd. (Song Khe - Noi Hoang Industrial Park, Bac Giang) are receiving treatment after a celebratory meal on October 20th.
Patients with symptoms including abdominal pain, vomiting, frequent diarrhea, dizziness, and fever were treated by doctors at Bac Giang Provincial General Hospital and Tan Dan General Hospital.
The Bac Giang Provincial Department of Health has assigned the Provincial Industrial Zones Health Center to coordinate with the Health Department, Bac Giang City Health Center, and Shinsung Vina Co., Ltd. to investigate and gather information about the establishment that provided the meal on October 20th.
The department noted details such as menus and food safety standards.
The Bac Giang Center for Disease Control (CDC) is responsible for collecting patient samples and identifying the cause if samples are available.
The Bac Giang Provincial Department of Health's stance is to clarify the incident and propose that the competent authorities handle the food safety incident in accordance with regulations.
Earlier on the afternoon of October 20th, Shinsung Vina Co., Ltd. held a celebratory party for over 1,100 workers. The food preparation was handled by a hired company. The menu included seafood soup, steamed prawns in coconut milk, rare beef with lemon, butter-fried squid, honey-grilled chicken, grilled catfish with galangal and fermented rice paste, served with vegetable wraps…
The Bac Giang CDC is continuing to test patient samples to determine the cause.
