Royal Caribbean's super cruise ship Star of the Seas will set sail in August from Port Canaveral in Florida, USA, starting a 180-day round- the-world journey.
The new superyacht was welcomed by the Royal Caribbean team at a shipyard in Turku, Finland last week.
This ship is the sister ship to Icon of the Seas, also owned by Royal Caribbean, which is currently the world's largest cruise ship. However, both can carry 5,610 passengers - making them the two largest cruise ships, with a total tonnage of 248,633 tons, 365m long, 65m wide, 20 floors high...

For those who prefer water fun, the ship will be home to the largest water park at sea, with six record-breaking slides. The slides include the tallest drop water slide at sea, the first free-fall water slide at sea, and two raft slides.
For those who like to splash around, there's also Splashaway Bay, with water cannons, fountains, pools and whirlpools. Passengers can also try their hand at surfing on a 40-foot surf simulator. In total, the ship has seven pools – including a family pool and an adult pool.

Alternatively, families can head to the Water's Edge pool with ocean views. For those who prefer to stay dry, there's the Lost Dunes mini-golf course to explore or the Adrenaline Peak rock-climbing wall. And for the brave, there's Crown's Edge - part skywalk, part thrill ride, 46m above sea level.
For older kids, there are dedicated activities, including Social020 – which has a secret entrance leading to a games room, karaoke room and cinema. There will also be a park in the middle of the ship, with more than 30,500 trees.

As for entertainment, there are plenty of options on board, too. Deck plans also reveal a concert hall, casino, spacious fitness center, a Starbucks, an escape room, a spa, and slides.
At the Royal Theatre, visitors can also see the Broadway play Back to the Future .
There is also an ice rink called Absolute Zero, which will feature performances by professional skaters.
There are more than 40 dining venues on board, including complimentary dining options and specialty restaurants for which passengers will have to pay extra.

Cruises on Star of the Seas will also include Perfect Day at CocoCay, a private island in the Bahamas. A cruise on Star of the Seas starts from £2,899 per person.
The first voyage will depart on August 31, 2025.
