That's the Star of the Seas, a Royal Caribbean cruise ship with 20 decks, 8 common areas, 7 swimming pools, 40 restaurants, and a capacity of nearly 10,000 people.
The first week-long itinerary will take travelers across the eastern and western Caribbean, with stops in San Juan, St. Kitts, Cozumel, and Royal Caribbean's private island in the Bahamas.
Star of the Seas was built at the Meyer Turku shipyard in Finland, with construction milestones closely monitored by the cruise industry, spanning two years.

How did Star of the Seas earn the title of the world's largest cruise ship?
Royal Caribbean's Icon Class fleet ushered in a new era for ultra-luxury cruises with its first two vessels: Icon of the Seas and Star of the Seas. Icon of the Seas, which set sail in early 2024, was immediately recognized as the world's largest cruise ship. However, just a year later, its sister ship, Star of the Seas, entered service and quietly dethroned it to claim the title.

The two mega-cruise ships have almost identical designs, passenger capacities, and amenities, but size tells a different story. Icon of the Seas is 364.75 meters long, has 20 decks, a gross tonnage of approximately 248,663 tons, and can carry 5,610 passengers in double cabins – or up to 7,600 when fully booked – along with a crew of around 2,350. Star of the Seas is roughly the same length as Icon of the Seas, 364.8 meters, also has 20 decks, and carries nearly 10,000 people, but surpasses it with an estimated gross tonnage of 249,800 tons. This slight increase in tonnage is enough to officially make Star of the Seas the world's largest mega-cruise ship.
Star of the Seas is a floating metropolis with luxurious amenities, designed not just as a ship but as a unique destination. The cruise ship is divided into 8 themed "neighborhoods," each offering a distinct experience and a range of bars, restaurants, entertainment venues, and more.
