As Pagani draws to a close one of its most spectacular creations, the final Huayra Roadster BC, affectionately known as the “Quaranta”, Italian for “forty”, marks the end of an era for a supercar named after the god of wind. Expected to fetch between $5.7 million and $6 million, this unique car is not only the 40th and final Huayra Roadster BC produced, but also one of the most beautifully designed examples to leave the factory in San Cesario sul Panaro.
The name Huayra itself has had a huge impact on the history of the automobile. When it was launched in 2011, following the legendary Zonda, the Huayra shouldered the enormous responsibility of continuing Pagani's philosophy of the perfect combination of art and engineering. The result is a car that is both sculpture and speed machine, a refined combination of design and performance that pushes the limits of what a hand-built supercar can be. The Huayra BC debuted in 2016 as a coupe, unveiled at the Geneva International Motor Show. The Pagani Huayra Roadster was named in honor of Benny Caiola, an Italian real estate entrepreneur, an early investor in Pagani, and the brand’s first customer. Exactly three years later, in 2019, Pagani introduced the Huayra Roadster BC, taking the BC philosophy to the next level for open-top cars.
While it looks similar to its coupe sibling, nearly every aerodynamic element has been redesigned. Beneath the carbon fiber skin is a reworked version of the Mercedes-AMG V12 engine, now tuned to produce a staggering 800 horsepower and 775 pound-feet (572 Nm) of torque. With a curb weight of just 2,755 pounds (1,250 kg), the Roadster BC is 66 pounds (30 kg) lighter than the standard Huayra Roadster, no small feat for a convertible hypercar. The fixed rear wing, integrated snorkel, and active aero panels help the car generate an astonishing 1,100 pounds (499 kg) of downforce at 155 mph (250 km/h), ensuring stability even at its 230 mph (370 km/h) top speed. The final model produced, the “Quaranta,” is a profound tribute to Pagani’s artistry and dedication. The pearlescent Bianco Benny paint, reminiscent of Benny Caiola himself, shimmers with subtle warmth in the light, while tri-color accents inspired by the Italian flag cover the entire body, rear wing, diffuser, and even inside the cockpit. The cockpit is a refined blend of craftsmanship and precision with black Malevic leather, carbon fiber accents, and red detailing throughout. The number 40 is intricately embroidered into each headrest and engraved on the removable carbon fiber roof panel, while the engine bay bears the signatures of Horacio Pagani and the artisans who crafted the car.
Delivered new to a single private owner in Florida, the Quaranta is in near mint condition, with less than 75 miles on the odometer. Since its delivery in April 2022, the car has appeared at a number of carefully selected events, including the 2022 and 2024 Miami Concours, and most recently in the prestigious Hypercars category at ModaMiami 2025. As the last Huayra Roadster BC ever built, the Quaranta is considered the final chapter in an era defined by relentless passion and mechanical artistry. For collectors and enthusiasts alike, the Quaranta is a symbol of timeless beauty and performance, destined to take its place among the greatest automotive masterpieces of the 21st century.
