Son La won first prize in the 2025 North Central Provinces Open Tour Guide Competition.

From October 22-23, the 2025 North Central Coast Tour Guide Competition took place in Thanh Hoa province. The contestants from Son La province won a first prize and many impressive secondary prizes.

The contest is hosted by the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Thanh Hoa province, in coordination with the Department of Tourism, Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Hanoi City, Ho Chi Minh City and the provinces of Son La, Nghe An, Ha Tinh and Quang Tri.

The contest gathered 25 excellent contestants, representing more than 2,000 tour guides from provinces and cities in the region. The contestants went through 5 rounds including: Greeting; knowledge; explanation and handling of situations; talent demonstrating the understanding, professional skills and professional style of a tour guide.

Son La delegation participated in the contest with 3 contestants who are members of Moc Chau Tourist Guide Club, Son La Province Travel and Tour Guide Association. In the final result, contestant Do Van Dam won the first prize and the golden intellectual tour guide prize. Contestant Luong Phuong Thao won the encouragement prize; contestant Ban Duc Dai won the most impressive tour guide prize.

The competition is an opportunity for tour guides in the region to exchange, learn, and share experiences, contributing to improving their skills and expertise. At the same time, it promotes links and cooperation in tourism development between localities in the region.
