Safe and energy-efficient light source
Ms. Du Thuy Huyen Tran, Secretary of the Youth Union of Cu Chi Power Company, under the Ho Chi Minh City Power Corporation Youth Union, is one of the outstanding role models honored this year.
During the period 2022-2025, with a spirit of proactive volunteerism and creativity, the unit implemented many practical programs and tasks.

Specifically, the unit, together with the General Corporation's Youth Union, implemented the project "Safe, Civilized, and Economical Lighting for Social Welfare." The project renovated and repaired the electrical systems for 640 disadvantaged households in and outside of Ho Chi Minh City. The total cost of implementation was over 512 million VND, and more than 900 volunteer soldiers participated.

The project "Safe, aesthetically pleasing, and energy-efficient electrical systems in alleyways" involved renovating and bundling communication cables, and installing solar-powered lighting systems to ensure electrical safety, improve urban aesthetics, and enhance the living standards of residents. The project was implemented in 118 streets and alleyways in and outside of Ho Chi Minh City. It mobilized over 1,000 volunteer soldiers, installing approximately 630 solar-powered lighting systems, with a total cost of nearly 1.1 billion VND.
Applying technology to improve management efficiency.
Sharing in the joy, Mr. Pham Tran Hoang Van, a member of the Executive Committee of the Youth Union of Saigon Water Supply Corporation - Limited Liability Company, and Deputy Secretary of the Youth Union of Phu Hoa Tan Water Supply Joint Stock Company, expressed his determination to contribute to the unit's further development. "This title is a reminder for me to continue to maintain the spirit of initiative, creativity, and daring to think and act – true to the image of a young worker in the era of digital transformation and sustainable development," Mr. Hoang Van said.

Sharing his thoughts on "Applying information technology in managing water meter size change records, supporting efforts to combat invisible water loss at the company," Mr. Hoang Van stated that previously, the management of water meter size change records at the company was manual, lacked uniformity, and relied heavily on paper documents and Excel spreadsheets. Coordination between departments was difficult, and records were prone to errors and loss. Therefore, a more scientific management system was needed.
Without hesitation, Hoang Van and his team developed the model. The system allows for the digitization of all electronic records in stages; updates progress and automatically compiles statistics and reports; integrates water consumption data to suggest adjustments to meter sizes. Importantly, it also features access control, ensuring security and individual accountability, along with a user-friendly interface.
As a result, records are tracked and retrieved centrally, reducing errors and shortening processing time. The application of technology also reduces printing, storage, and unnecessary replacement material costs; minimizes invisible water loss, uses water resources efficiently, and benefits the community. At the same time, it contributes to administrative modernization and promotes digital transformation in businesses.
Spreading the Ho Chi Minh Cultural Space
During his time working, Mr. Tran Doan Minh Tri, Secretary of the Youth Union of Ho Chi Minh City Petroleum Company Limited, Member of the Standing Committee of the Youth Union of the City Party Committee Office, and the Youth Union of Party Agencies of Ho Chi Minh City, has proposed many initiatives that have contributed to improving the efficiency of the unit's operations.

A prime example is the development of the "Plan for Preventing and Responding to Oil Spills at Petrol Station No. 39, a branch of Ho Chi Minh City Petroleum Company Limited in Dong Thap Province," which was implemented from September 2024. This initiative can be applied to other petrol stations of similar size within the company.
“The plan fully complies with legal regulations on environmental protection and oil spill response. In addition, it anticipates potential oil spill scenarios, proposes appropriate handling measures, and organizes annual drills,” Minh Tri said.

In addition, he also proposed the solution of "Renovating the company office's professional room into a meeting room combined with a Ho Chi Minh Cultural Space," contributing to building a modern and friendly working environment; spreading the thoughts, ethics, and style of Ho Chi Minh.
"When participating in activities here, union members, employees, and customers can scan the QR code to read books, publications, interesting stories, and profound lessons about President Ho Chi Minh," Minh Tri shared.
On the evening of October 26th, at the program commemorating the 69th anniversary of the Vietnam Youth Union's Traditional Day and the 43rd anniversary of the Ho Chi Minh City Young Workers' Traditional Day, 33 outstanding young worker leaders of Ho Chi Minh City for 2025 were honored.
