A feast for the eyes: The Southern Vietnam Fruit Festival currently taking place in Ho Chi Minh City.

On June 8th, the awards ceremony for the 2025 Fruit Carving Art Competition was held at Suoi Tien Cultural Tourism Area (Ho Chi Minh City).

The fruit carving art competition is organized by Suoi Tien Cultural Tourism Company in collaboration with the Department of Industry and Trade, the Department of Culture and Sports , the Department of Tourism, and the Union of Friendship Organizations of Ho Chi Minh City. This is one of the main activities of the 2025 Southern Fruit Festival, aiming to contribute to preserving, developing, and honoring the traditional art of the people of Southern Vietnam.

According to reporters, the competition attracted the attention of both domestic and international tourists, who were delighted to admire the artistic creations made from various kinds of fruits. Twenty-four artworks by artisans from An Giang, Tien Giang , Long An, Binh Duong, Dong Nai, and Ho Chi Minh City participated in the competition. Most of the fruit sculptures featured images of President Ho Chi Minh, which the artists prioritized for their entries. Hundreds of types of fruits and agricultural products were meticulously incorporated into these artworks, contributing to the promotion of the richness and diversity of Vietnamese agricultural products.

Representatives from Suoi Tien Cultural Tourism Company stated that they are collaborating with the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Culture and Sports to have the art of fruit carving recognized as a national intangible cultural heritage.

From June 1st to June 8th, the 2025 Southern Vietnam Fruit Festival consumed nearly 100 tons of fruit and attracted over 100,000 visitors. The festival will continue throughout the summer with many special activities awaiting visitors.
