The Miss Universe Organizing Committee and the Miss Universe Jamaica Organization have just updated Henry's health status after the accident that caused her to fall off the stage on November 19 in Thailand, during the preliminary round of the contest.
According to the statement, the fall resulted in an intracranial hemorrhage with loss of consciousness, fractures, facial lacerations, and other serious injuries. Immediately after the accident, Henry was transferred to the intensive care unit (ICU) in Bangkok (Thailand).

“She remains in critical condition, is under constant neurological monitoring and requires 24-hour supervision by a team of specialists,” the organizers said. Henry is expected to be flown back to Jamaica in the coming days with a medical escort and continue treatment at a local hospital.
In a statement, a representative of the Miss Universe Jamaica Organization said Henry is looking forward to returning home: “She is eager to see her family and fans again soon.”
Previously, a video recording the moment Henry slipped and fell off the edge of the stage, while posing in an orange rhinestone dress and high heels, went viral online on November 19.

Hours after the accident, the Miss Universe Jamaica Organization announced that Henry was taken to Paolo Rangsit Hospital near Bangkok and did not have life-threatening injuries. However, a later update revealed that her condition was more complicated than initially thought.
Henry's sister, Dr. Phylicia Henry-Samuels, said Henry was “not as well as expected” and had to stay in the ICU for at least seven days for close monitoring.
The Miss Universe Jamaica organization called on the community to “continue to pray for Gabrielle” and urged the public to avoid spreading false information that could hurt the family.
“The most important thing to us at this time is Gabrielle's recovery and the privacy of her loved ones,” the statement said.
The Miss Universe Organization also confirmed that it will sponsor the entire repatriation flight with medical escort and cover all medical expenses related to the incident for the Jamaican beauty.
Gabrielle Henry, who was crowned Miss Universe Jamaica in August, is an optometry student and blind activist. Her See Me Foundation supports education and economic opportunity for people who are blind or visually impaired.
The Miss Universe 2025 pageant, which took place from November 2 to November 21 in Thailand, was mired in controversy from the very beginning. The final results also became the center of controversy when the victory of Mexico's representative, Fátima Bosch, was suspected of lacking transparency.
Immediately after the coronation night, a runner-up of the contest announced that she would return her title and leave the organization. Many contestants and judges of the contest also spoke out to denounce the results of the contest as unfair and unprofessionally organized.
