
At the conference, Colonel Luong Dinh Hung, Deputy Commander of Law Enforcement of the Vietnam Coast Guard, emphasized that in 2025, through the two-level liaison point, the two sides effectively implemented the sharing and exchange of information on the situation at sea, coordinated and promptly resolved incidents related to fishermen of both countries, search and rescue operations, violations of illegal fishing, smuggling and other violations of the law, contributing to ensuring stability, security and order in the historical waters and adjacent sea areas between the two countries.
Admiral Tea Bunleam, Deputy Secretary-General of the Cambodian National Maritime Security Committee, highly agreed with the assessment of the Deputy Commander of Law Enforcement of the Vietnam Coast Guard and stated that in the past, Vietnamese and Cambodian fishermen have basically complied well with the regulations of the laws of both countries; in the future, the two agencies will continue to strengthen information exchange, coordination, and cooperation in handling incidents and situations at sea.

At the conference, both sides agreed to continue maintaining information exchange and promoting maritime law enforcement activities to maintain stability, security, and safety in the region, thereby creating favorable conditions for fishing activities in the historical waters between the two countries; to coordinate and support search and rescue operations, combat smuggling, and combat maritime crimes; to maintain regional cooperation activities annually, including exchanges of delegations between the Cambodian Forward Tactical Command and the Command of Coast Guard Region 4; to organize the 6th Conference on lessons learned from the implementation of the Hotline Communication Mechanism between the two forces in 2026 in Cambodia; and to implement reciprocal ship visits in 2026. The Vietnam Coast Guard is expected to send a ship to visit Cambodia in the second quarter of 2026.
