Attracting more effective projects
To date, the Phuc Ung Industrial Cluster has attracted 13 projects with a total investment of nearly 1.5 trillion VND, including 7 domestic projects and 5 FDI projects. Many projects have been operating stably, creating a clear industrial foundation. Notable projects include: Tuyen Quang Garment Factory (Phong Phu International Joint Stock Company), built since 2016 with a maximum capacity of 2.5 million products/year and expected processing revenue of 200 billion VND/year; Phuc Sinh Leather Shoe Factory, completed in 2 phases with a capacity of 5 million products/year; and Truong Tho Vietnam Co., Ltd.'s animal feed processing plant, producing 200,000 tons/year.
Korea Bag invested over $3 million to build a packaging factory for export in Phuc Ung, which began operations in June 2023 and currently employs over 100 workers. Production Director Nguyen Tien Dung said that Phase I achieved a stable production capacity of 80,000 products per month; 90% of products are exported to Asian markets. By 2025, the company aims to produce 1 million products and achieve a revenue of 90 billion VND.
Similarly, WooJin Vina Korea Co., Ltd.'s PPE export packaging factory commenced operations in April 2024 with 70% automation. General Director Truong Van Hung stated that 100% of products are exported to South Korea and Europe, and the company has orders secured until the end of the first quarter of 2026. Revenue is projected to reach approximately 50 billion VND in 2026. The continuous expansion of FDI enterprises demonstrates the increasingly attractive and stable investment environment in Phuc Ung.
Expanding development space
According to Decision No. 303 of the People's Committee of Tuyen Quang province, Phuc Ung 3 Industrial Cluster is planned with an area of 40 hectares, oriented towards attracting processing, manufacturing, and production of electrical and electronic equipment, medical supplies, construction materials, packaging, and supporting industries. The goal is to create a modern, environmentally friendly industrial space that is competitive in the region. The project investor is Phuc Ung Industrial Investment Co., Ltd., with a total capital of 439 billion VND, using the company's own resources combined with other legal capital sources. The project has an operating period of 50 years and is required to be completed within 24 months from the date of the establishment decision.
Mr. Nguyen Quang Phong, Head of the Project Management Board of Phuc Ung Industrial Clusters 2 and 3, said: “Following the province's approval, the investor is urgently completing the procedures to start construction as soon as possible, determined to bring the project into operation as quickly as possible.” This is one of the projects that the province expects to create a strong shift in attracting industrial investment.
At the Phuc Ung Industrial Cluster, the Kien Xuong leather shoe factory is entering its final stages. With only about two months left, the project will officially begin operations, creating job opportunities for nearly 2,000 local workers – the largest number among similar projects in the area. Currently, construction teams are mobilizing maximum manpower and machinery to complete the factory buildings, warehouses, offices, and technical systems.
The Phuc Ung and Phuc Ung 3 industrial clusters are undergoing a strong shift from the traditional industrial cluster model to a modern industrial space, attracting high-quality processing and manufacturing businesses, supporting industries, and FDI. The continuous emergence of new factories, coupled with the promising infrastructure of Phuc Ung 3, is creating significant opportunities for Tuyen Quang to achieve breakthroughs in industrial development, expand employment, and promote sustainable economic restructuring.
