Students of class 6A2 of Nguyen Cong Tru Secondary School experience and learn at the Vietnam Literature Museum

The students of class 6A2, Nguyen Cong Tru Secondary School, Ba Dinh District, Hanoi

The program began with museum staff taking the students and their teacher to watch a documentary film about the writer To Hoai – a great writer who wrote many works for children – in the museum's screening room.

After watching the film, the staff of the Vietnam Literature Museum guided and explained the content of each exhibition space to the teachers and students, helping them to better understand the development of Vietnamese literature. The museum staff provided knowledge to the children and also asked thought-provoking questions, creating a friendly and lively two-way interaction that both teachers and students enthusiastically participated in.

When I visited the Vietnam Literature Museum, I was very happy. There are so many valuable and interesting things here. Today, I learned about the life of the writer To Hoai, and I also learned about literature written in Chinese characters, Nom characters, and the Vietnamese Quốc ngữ script. I found it very useful and relevant to our needs, and I even saw texts that we will be studying in the future. Through this experience, not only the children but also their parents were able to learn about the formation of Vietnamese literature, from Sino-Vietnamese literature to medieval and modern literature. Through the authors, writers, and poets, the works expressed human thoughts and feelings, relationships, and historical, cultural, economic, and political values. The Vietnam Literature Museum is not only helpful for teachers but also for students, providing them with practical experiences and knowledge. Especially with the current curriculum, the literary works in the school program help students broaden their understanding of authors and social life, thus providing them with good inspiration and knowledge. Here, students gain a clearer and deeper understanding, even finding information unavailable online. The space also fosters a love for literature and a deeper understanding of Vietnamese history. This is a very fun and extremely beneficial place for students, and they can return many times. The Literature Museum is suitable not only for middle school students but also for high school students and university students researching literature. And this is my third visit, yet I still haven't been able to explore everything. I will definitely come back a fourth and fifth time, and I will bring other groups of students here so they can experience and love literature even more.
