Focus on implementing the adjustment of Son La Provincial Planning for the period 2021

Meeting to deploy the adjustment of Son La Provincial Planning for the period 2021 - 2030, with a vision to 2050.

Pursuant to Resolution No. 273/NQ-CP dated September 9, 2025 of the Government on the regular Government meeting in August 2025; Official Dispatch No. 15591/BTC-QLQH dated October 8, 2025 of the Ministry of Finance on adjusting the provincial planning for the period 2021-2030 approved by competent authorities, in which localities are required to complete the review and adjustment of the planning and submit it to competent authorities for approval before December 31, 2025, Son La province has issued a plan to adjust the Son La Provincial Planning for the period 2021-2030, with a vision to 2050.

Up to now, the departments and branches have evaluated the results of the implementation of the Planning until 2025, reviewed and proposed the content of the Provincial Planning adjustment suitable for each industry and field; at the same time, advised the Provincial People's Committee to issue a decision approving the content of the Son La Provincial Planning that needs to be adjusted, as a basis for organizing the implementation of the next steps. At the same time, the budget for adjusting the provincial planning has been built, submitted to the appraisal council for consideration; studied and prepared documents related to the selection of consulting units, after the budget has been approved by the competent authority.

The leaders of the Department of Finance quickly reported the results of the implementation of the adjustment of the Planning.

Accordingly, the provincial planning content will review, supplement and analyze the new context, assess the socio -economic situation, current land use status, urban and rural systems in the period of 2021-2025 and assess the role and position of the province in the region and the country; synthesize strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, challenges; key issues that need to be addressed in the provincial planning. On that basis, the planning will adjust the strategy in terms of viewpoints, visions, goals and development breakthroughs. The core content includes adjusting the development orientation of sectors, fields, planning of urban and rural systems and functional areas, along with the development of technical and social infrastructure. At the same time, the planning focuses on resource and environmental management, including land use orientation, environmental protection, biodiversity, minerals and response to climate change. The planning is also completed by adding a list of priority projects, solutions, implementation resources, and related map and database systems.

The adjustment of the Son La Provincial Planning for the period 2021 - 2030, with a vision to 2050, is of great significance in synchronizing with higher-level and sectoral planning, while shaping strategic breakthroughs in the context of operating under a two-level government model. This is a solid legal foundation for socio-economic development, attracting investment and making Son La an important development pole of the Northwest region.

In his concluding remarks at the meeting, the Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee emphasized that adjusting the provincial planning is an inevitable requirement, clearly demonstrating the development vision of Son La province in the coming period in conjunction with the Resolution of the 16th Provincial Party Congress, term 2025 - 2030. He requested relevant departments, branches and units to closely and flexibly coordinate with relevant units, speeding up the progress of developing plans in the assigned areas. During the consultation period, continue to review and update the content of the national master plan to ensure consistency and synchronization.
