To provide relief to victims affected by the earthquake in Myanmar, the Thai military announced that it has deployed more than 1,000 troops, heavy machinery and cranes for rescue and recovery in the capital Bangkok.

According to the latest figures, 78 people are still missing, mostly from the only building that collapsed in Thailand, while the death toll stands at 18. Most of the victims were workers building the building.

The forces also supported the city’s “ music in the park” activities at Rod Fai and Benjasiri public parks in Chatuchak district, aimed at providing spiritual support to those still suffering from the aftermath of the March 28 earthquake.

On March 31, eight Thai state-owned banks announced support measures for victims affected by the earthquake in Myanmar, including debt repayment deferrals and low-interest loans.

According to Deputy Government Spokesperson Anukul Prueksanusak, the banks offering support measures include the Government Housing Bank (GHB), the SME Development Bank (SME D Bank), the Thai Credit Guarantee Corporation (TCG), the Export-Import Bank of Thailand (Exim Bank), the Bank for Agriculture and Agricultural Cooperatives (BAAC), the Government Savings Bank (GSB), the Islamic Bank of Thailand (IBank) and Krungthai Bank.

Financial measures are available to both individuals and businesses affected by the earthquake to provide immediate relief and help sustain livelihoods and businesses.

The official affirmed that state banks are accelerating programs to support all target groups./.
