Thai Nguyen chooses '3 breakthroughs' for 'double-digit' economic growth

On the afternoon of September 16, Thai Nguyen Provincial Party Committee held a press conference to inform about the first Thai Nguyen Provincial Party Congress, term 2025 - 2030.

Mr. Nguyen Dang Binh, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Council of Thai Nguyen province, said that the Thai Nguyen Provincial Party Congress had the participation of 446 delegates, representing over 140,000 party members, taking place from September 22 to 24.

The Congress will review the implementation of the Resolution of the Provincial Party Congress for the 2020-2025 term on the basis of the Resolution of the Thai Nguyen and Bac Kan Party Committees before the merger; determine the directions, goals, tasks and solutions for the 2025-2030 term.

According to the representative of the Thai Nguyen Provincial Party Committee, in the 2020 - 2025 term, Thai Nguyen's economy will develop stably and sustainably with many bright spots, with an average economic growth of 7.3% per year.

By 2025, the province's gross domestic product is estimated to reach about 202,925 billion VND, 1.6 times higher than in 2020; the average gross domestic product per capita in 2025 will reach 119 million VND/person, 1.5 times higher than in 2020...

During the 2025 - 2030 term, the Thai Nguyen Provincial Party Congress identified three breakthroughs: developing synchronous and modern infrastructure; developing science, technology, innovation, digital transformation and improving the quality of human resources; developing the private economy to become an important driving force for economic development and developing a green economy and a circular economy.

Accordingly, the first Thai Nguyen Provincial Party Congress set out a number of important targets: average economic growth rate (GRDP) of 10.5%/year or more; state budget revenue growth rate (excluding land use fees, lottery revenue, global minimum tax) strives to reach an average of 10%/year or more...

Before 2030, Thai Nguyen will become a modern industrial center, with people having high average income and strive to become a high-income province before 2045.
