Infrastructure opens the way for development
Along with the new rural development program, Thai Nguyen has focused on investing in and completing the rural transport system, especially in difficult and mountainous areas. Up to now, 100% of residential areas in the province have concrete roads connecting to inter-commune and inter-provincial routes - a number that demonstrates the locality's determination in creating a foundation for development.

Inter-commune and inter-provincial routes have contributed to expanding trade opportunities.
When the new road was opened, the appearance of the countryside and people's lives changed day by day. In Bo Lu village, Ba Be commune, joy was evident on the faces of each person. Ms. Trieu Kim Xuyen shared: "Previously, agricultural products were only consumed within the commune, and prices were forced down by traders. Since the new road was built, vehicles have reached the village, goods circulate smoothly, agricultural products are sold at higher prices, and we have more motivation to expand production and our lives have gradually improved."
Not only facilitating travel and trade, new routes also change production thinking, helping ethnic minorities boldly invest, change models, and increase product value.
Wherever the road opens, development opportunities open up. People in mountainous communes can now participate in training courses on farming techniques, animal husbandry, vocational training, as well as learn how to use loans effectively, and participate in labor export - directions that were previously considered far-fetched.
In addition to infrastructure investment, Thai Nguyen province has synchronously and effectively implemented multidimensional poverty reduction programs, supporting livelihoods, housing, and credit for poor households, paving the way for people in disadvantaged areas of Thai Nguyen province to escape poverty sustainably. In the period of 2022-2024, the whole province had nearly 20,000 households escape poverty. It is expected that by the end of 2025, Thai Nguyen will have nearly 3,400 more households escape poverty sustainably.
Housing policy has been widely implemented, nearly 14,000 solidarity houses have been built in the past 5 years for poor and near-poor households in the province. In Na Ri commune, many poor households were supported with 60 million VND each to build new houses, providing stable housing, contributing to strengthening the belief in the humane policies of the Party and State.

Thai Nguyen 11/11 Charity Club gave money to support housing construction for a household in Van Lang commune.
Chairwoman of Na Ri Commune People's Committee Nong Thi Anh Tho said: From July until now are the peak months for temporary housing demolition, the whole commune has nearly 150 households in need of housing support. Up to now, basically all households have moved into new houses, only a few are continuing to complete.
For Mr. Ngan Duc Quan in Na Ri commune, the new house completed with the support of 60 million VND from the State is not only a shelter from the rain and sun, but also a spiritual support for the whole family. He emotionally said: "Since September 2025, when we moved to the new house, our lives have changed completely. The new house helps us to feel secure and stabilize our lives, and has more confidence to strive to escape poverty sustainably." Mr. Quan shared.
According to the Transaction Office of the Cho Moi Social Policy Bank, the policy credit capital source has also been effective. The outstanding loan balance for poor households is expected to reach more than 526 billion VND by the end of 2025, helping thousands of households invest in livestock, cultivation, and economic development. In Cao Minh commune, Mr. Giang A Tinh's household, thanks to the National Target Program on Sustainable Poverty Reduction in Ethnic Minority and Mountainous Areas, was supported with 9 breeding goats from May 2024; after more than a year, the herd of goats has grown to 27, income has increased, and his family's life has improved day by day, proving the effectiveness of timely and appropriate support.

The herd of goats reproduces well, helping Mr. Giang A Tinh's family have a stable source of income, contributing to improving their lives.
Thanks to roads, capital, and determination, many households have proactively risen up. Mr. Nong Xuan De, Na Niem village, Ba Be commune, shared: Thanks to borrowing 30 million VND in preferential capital from the Social Policy Bank to prepare for labor export, after 7 months of working on an agricultural farm in Japan, he sent back 250 million VND to help his family pay off the debt. It is expected that after more than 2 years, he will have about 1 billion VND in accumulated capital. Such stories are becoming more and more common in the highland villages of Thai Nguyen.
Towards sustainable poverty reduction
Despite many positive results, the province still has more than 23,000 poor households and nearly 15,500 near-poor households, of which nearly 19,400 poor households are ethnic minorities. This is a big challenge in the process of implementing the goal of sustainable multidimensional poverty reduction in the coming period.
Thai Nguyen aims to reduce the multidimensional poverty rate in an inclusive and sustainable manner and build a happy community; strive to reduce the multidimensional poverty rate by an average of 1-1.5%/year, poor communes by at least 3%/year; poor ethnic minority households by 3%/year or more. By 2035, the multidimensional poverty rate in the whole province will be below 1%.
To achieve this goal, the province continues to integrate, mobilize resources, develop essential infrastructure associated with livelihood support, and replicate effective poverty reduction models. Coordinate with local authorities to organize seminars and training courses to transfer science and technology to farmers in cultivation and animal husbandry. Build a civilized and progressive lifestyle; implement a target program to reduce sustainable poverty such as creating conditions for poor households to borrow capital; support poor households in housing...
