Vietnam women's volleyball team easily defeated the Philippines to reach the SEA Games 33 final.

VHO - By defeating the Philippines in the semi-final held this afternoon, December 14th, in Bangkok (Thailand), the Vietnamese women's volleyball team has qualified for the final of the women's volleyball event at the 33rd SEA Games.

To reach the semi-finals, the Vietnamese women's team finished first in Group B with three wins against Indonesia, Myanmar, and Malaysia. Meanwhile, the Philippines finished second in Group A with two wins and one loss.

The Vietnamese girls have yet to lose a set at the SEA Games 33.

In the two most recent encounters between the two teams at the SEA V.League 2025, Coach Nguyen Tuan Kiet's team emerged victorious on both occasions, and the result remains unchanged in this rematch.

In the first set, the two teams fiercely contested, befitting a major match. The turning point came in the second half when Nhu Quynh's powerful serves helped the Vietnamese girls pull ahead, pushing the Philippines into a stalemate with a score of 17, before ultimately winning 25-17.

In the second set, Thanh Thuy and the Vietnamese girls gave the Philippines no chance to create any difficulties. The Vietnamese women's team played dominantly and won convincingly 25-14 to take a 2-0 lead.

Building on their momentum, the Vietnamese women's team focused on a quick, decisive attack and finished the third set with a score of 25-17.

With a convincing 3-0 victory over the Philippines (25-17, 25-14, 25-17), the Vietnamese women's team has secured their place in the final, competing for the SEA Games 33 gold medal tomorrow, December 15th.

Thanh Thuy and her teammates will face the winner of the second semi-final match between host nation Thailand and Indonesia.
