Thanh Hoa proactively responds to tropical depression

According to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, at noon on June 24, the low pressure area in the North East Sea strengthened into a tropical depression.

At 1:00 p.m. on June 24, the center of the tropical depression was at 16.0 degrees North latitude, 116.2 degrees East longitude, about 500km East Southeast of Hoang Sa archipelago, with the strongest wind at level 6, gusting to level 8.

Forecast in the next 24 hours, the tropical depression will move northwest at a speed of 15-20km/h, wind level 6, gust level 8.

Pursuant to Official Dispatch No. 3597/CD-BNNMT dated June 24, 2025 of the Minister of Agriculture and Environment ; to proactively respond to natural disasters, the Provincial Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention, Search and Rescue and Disaster Prevention requests the Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention, Search and Rescue and Disaster Prevention of coastal districts, towns and cities and relevant departments, branches and units to closely monitor the developments of natural disasters; strictly manage means of transport going to sea; organize counting and notify owners of means of transport, captains of ships and boats operating at sea of the location, direction of movement and developments of natural disasters to proactively avoid, escape or not move into dangerous areas.

Ready forces and means for rescue when required.

Dangerous areas in the next 24 hours: From 15.0-19.5 degrees North latitude, 112.0-117.0 degrees East longitude; in the next 48 hours: North of latitude 16.5 and from 108.5-114.0 degrees East longitude (dangerous areas are adjusted in forecast bulletins).

Thanh Hoa Newspaper and Radio - Television Station, Thanh Hoa Coastal Information Station increase information about the developments of natural disasters to authorities at all levels, owners of vehicles operating at sea and people to proactively prevent and respond.

The provincial Hydrometeorological Station closely monitors, forecasts, warns, and promptly informs about the developments of natural disasters to proactively deploy response measures.

Departments, branches and sectors, according to their functions, State management tasks and assigned tasks, proactively direct and coordinate with localities in responding to natural disasters. Organize on-duty shifts seriously and regularly report to the Standing Office of the Provincial Command for Natural Disaster Prevention and Control and the Standing Office of the Provincial Command for Civil Defense, Natural Disaster Response and Search and Rescue.
