Meritorious Artist Thanh Loc at the "Gathering of artists who have grown up from the movement of the City Children's House system"
To commemorate the 50th anniversary of literature and art in Ho Chi Minh City (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025), a gathering of artists and writers who have grown from the movement of the City's Children's House system took place on the morning of October 25th at the Ho Chi Minh City Children's House. This was a warm occasion for artists and writers to return to the home that nurtured and cultivated their passion for art.
Ho Chi Minh City Children's House: A place to nurture artistic talent.
Many of Ho Chi Minh City's renowned artists today were once budding talents nurtured by the city's children's art movements. They carry on the flame of passion from their early days to continue their journey of contributing to the national art scene.
Since the reunification of the country, the Ho Chi Minh City Children's House (formerly the City Children's Palace) has become the largest children's cultural and arts center in the country. It not only helps children develop skills and discover talents but also instills in them a love for art and their homeland, Vietnam.

Artist Huu Nghia (standing in the middle) is delighted at the "Reunion of artists who have grown up from the movement of the City Children's House system".
Through clubs such as music and dance, fine arts, theater, puppetry, aerobics, and vocal training, thousands of children have been trained in a disciplined yet creative and inspiring environment.
Those children of yesteryear have now become prominent figures in the arts world as artists, directors, choreographers, musicians, and presenters, affirming their success on the paths they have chosen.

In the warm atmosphere of the program "Reunion of Artists and Writers Who Have Grown Up and Been Dedicated to the City Children's House System (1975 – 2025)", many familiar faces from the art world gathered together. They sat down together, sharing stories of their childhood and the beginnings of their big dreams.

The elaborate cultural performances were staged to welcome the "Reunion of Artists Who Have Grown Up Through the Movement of the City's Children's House System".
On stage, each heartfelt message conveyed to the audience recreated "the first steps in a great journey." Memories flooded back of the small stage within the grounds of the City Children's House, where they first nervously held microphones and sang, and where the first rounds of applause from the audience gave them strength.
Summer performances and competitions such as "Singing to Celebrate the Nation," "Melodies of Youth," or activities within the "Children's Art" and "Young Talents" movements are not only carefree playgrounds but also early life lessons, where they learn to stand firm, be confident, and love their profession with all their hearts.
The artists couldn't hide their emotions as they recalled the days of training with the dedicated teachers at the Children's House. These teachers not only imparted techniques but also instilled in their students a serious commitment to artistic work. From them, the younger generation realized that art is not just the glittering spotlight on stage, but the sweat, perseverance, and aspiration to reach for the greater good stemming from the simplest things.
Nearly half a century has passed, and the art movement at the Ho Chi Minh City Children's House has become a beautiful hallmark of the city named after President Ho Chi Minh, a place that nurtures, cultivates, and spreads humanistic values. From those young, hidden talents of yesteryear, they have now grown into artists who use their voices, dances, songs, and drawings to serve the public and enrich the spiritual life of society.

Meritorious Artist Thanh Loc is beloved by the veteran staff of the Children's House, who still regard him as a young member of the Ho Chi Minh City Children's House from his younger days.
More than just their achievements, they always hold a deep sense of pride in the place that sparked their passion for art. Their early days of practicing music, dancing, and painting were all built upon love, responsibility, and the pure dreams of childhood.
It is from this nurturing environment that artistic and humanistic values have gradually spread and permeated the cultural life of the city, contributing to the creation of an artistic landscape that is both fresh and full of identity.
To this day, those who have grown up under that roof, with deep pride and emotion, continue the mission of "Continuing to write the dreams," ensuring that the journey of dedication and artistic creation never ends.

The joy of artists and writers on the day of the "Reunion of artists and writers who have grown up through the movement of the City Children's House system".
A place where children of art return.
The program has become a deeply emotional meeting point for many generations of artists. It's an opportunity to reunite and a journey back to memories, to the innocent years of their childhood. Those were the days of taking their first steps with musical notes, hesitant dance moves, or awkward acting roles.
Now, having achieved success, they return to express their gratitude to their teachers and the alma mater that ignited their artistic dreams from childhood. At the same time, they continue to write a beautiful story about gratitude and the spirit of continuity between generations of artists.
