The delegation visited the coffee garden of Mr. Y Mi Byă's family.

According to Mr. Y Mi, previously, his family's land was used to grow cashew trees, but the income was unstable. In 2019, through the Youth Union, he was able to borrow 60 million VND from the Social Policy Bank. He boldly converted the old cashew garden area to grow coffee.

Growing coffee is very hard, the investment cost is quite high, when he first started, he encountered some difficulties, he had no experience in care techniques, how to prevent pests and diseases for the plants. He learned while doing. Mr. Y Mi spent time researching, learning experiences as well as techniques for planting and caring for coffee trees from those who went before in the village and districts specializing in coffee cultivation.

He is diligent in learning and applying scientific and technical knowledge to production to create quality products. Up to now, he has built a coffee growing model of more than 4 sao, with a stable income of 120 - 150 million VND/year.

The delegation visited the livestock model of Mr. Y Phan Mlo's family.

Like Mr. Y Mi, thanks to a loan entrusted through the Union with the amount of 50 million VND, Mr. Y Phan Mlo (Cu Ni commune) invested in building barns to develop livestock farming. Up to now, his family has a herd of breeding cows, sows and a flock of over 100 chickens. After deducting all expenses, his family earns from 70-100 million VND each year.

Mr. Y Phan confided: “In the past, my family had a lot of difficulties. We wanted to develop the economy but had no capital. Thanks to the loan entrusted through the Youth Union, my family was able to borrow capital to develop the economy and have a stable life like today.”

Ea Kar District Youth Union currently has nearly 6,500 members and youth. In recent years, along with volunteer movements for community life, Ea Kar District Youth Union has done a good job of entrusting loans from the district Social Policy Bank, creating conditions for youth union members to borrow capital to solve employment and develop the economy.

Mr. Y Ngan Nie, Secretary of the Ea Kar District Youth Union, said that currently, the district youth union is implementing 13 programs with a total outstanding loan balance of 115.8 billion VND, 66 savings groups and over 2,600 households borrowing.

To manage the entrusted loan capital for proper and effective use, ensuring no loss or waste, the district Youth Union regularly directs the Youth Unions of communes, towns and the leaders of borrowing and saving groups to strictly manage the number of households, borrowers and purposes of using the loan capital. The entrusted lending from the Youth Union has partly met the capital needs of many youth union members to invest in production and develop the economy.

Many youth models are suitable for local conditions.

According to Mr. Y Ngan, through the activities of receiving trust, checking and supervising loans, the Youth Union officials grasp the aspirations of young people from the grassroots level. Young people who need to borrow capital are consulted, guided and supported by the district Youth Union. Thereby, creating a connection between the Youth Union and young people, especially in rural areas. Thanks to that, most households that receive entrusted loans have built production models suitable to actual conditions such as: Developing models of livestock and poultry farms, growing crops... with an average income of 80 - 100 million VND/model/year.

In the coming time, the district union will organize to take youth union members to visit and study effective production and business models inside and outside the district so that youth union members can learn and apply scientific advances into practice.
